There’s a similar one, suggesting if you do something you pay the consequences. “You’ve made your bed and now lie in it.”

yes . In the pASt on Xanga I asked to my friends to send me the sayings they knew and I had listed all of them .
There are a ton of them, eh? And we use them all the timer without really thinking about them or their origins. They become a shortcut to saying what we mean.
