Post 1765: best friends forever, part II

There are more “evidences” of Rosie and Charles the kitty boy’s best friendship forever commitment. My friend Deborah notes this about her granddaughter Rosie’s ways to keep Charles in mind when he isn’t around to snuggle:

[T]his is a poster her uncle James gave her for Christmas.  She crossed out the irrelevant writing and put in “Charls” and made the eyes more orange to match her BFF’s eyes. It’s right beside her bed. [The poster is upper right, above.]

Deborah continues:

Rosie is out so I was able to verify the postcard under the pillow story.

[See the postcard in the photo above, left? Andy and Dougy wonder how anyone could doubt that Charles is worshiped by Rosie. “Aren’t all cats gods?” they chirp. Duh!

Post 1664: sneaking up…!

Minding their own business for a change. Dougy (left) and Andy join me in our little meeting place, Dougy on his ottoman, Andy on his end table, and me on the glide rocker. What could go wrong?

Woo hoo! Me giving Andy “wuv” (love) when he doesn’t want the attention! I’m “skritching” the darling kitty boy whether he wants it or not!

Mwahahaha! Now I move on to “scritch attack” Douglas!

I enjoy surprising the kitty boys with “wuv”.

Post 1251: A Christmas greeting from a couple of cats…

No, not Andy and Dougy (though they do wish you a blessed Christmas), but from my friend Deborah’s Charles and André, here in a holiday photo slide show.

“Meow! Meow!”

Deborah assures me Charles enjoys dressing up, and that he purrs while in costume. On the other hand, Dougy and Andy prefer to walk around in their birthday suits!

Post 737: Seriously, what was Dougy thinking…??

Andy’s a little guy, but don’t think he is a pussycat when Dougy steps outside well-defined kitty territorial lines! Yet he did just that.

It's obvious to all Andy's claimed not only the empty box here, but the over-turned wastepaper basket: "MINE!"

It’s obvious to all Andy claims not only the empty box here, but the over-turned wastepaper basket, too: “MINE!”

Yet even Andy has to take a break. So, despite Dougy’s presence in the room, Andy goes for a drink of water at the fountain. It won’t take long, he figures.

Andy out of the way, Dougy snoops at the box and makes plans to scrunch into it as best he can...!

Andy out of the way, Dougy snoops at the box and makes plans to scrunch into it as best he can…! There’s a saying: “When the cat’s away the…” Oh no, that was mice, not cat brothers! Never mind!

"No! No! No!" says Andy. Dougy gets caught in mid-snoop.

“No! No! No!” says Andy. Dougy gets caught in mid-snoop.

This won’t do! He gives Doug the “Screaming Mad Stink Eye that Makes Fur Fall Off Your Tail and Your Whiskers Take Off and Run” look all cats know is serious business. And Dougy knows it is serious business. Dougy heads on out, pronto! dougy gives it up for andy

Whew! Dougy got away with it this time, but only because he heeded Andy’s message. AND, though the magazines by the computer desk also are Andy’s, Andy can’t be both there and over at the box and wastepaper basket, too. Dougy plays his cards well!

One eye on Dougy and the other on the box, Andy verifies all is how he left it. Dougy's stink will leave soon enough!

Dougy once again finds out Andy is a tough little bugger when it comes to HIS things!

Must be time to feed the kitties. When I got up this morning — that is, when the cats got me up…– they both had innocent looks on their chops and all the wastepaper baskets were tipped over and rummaged through. They are not subtle!

711: Andy did it…

Andy is a quiet, sweet little cat, but he has his ornery side, too.

With that sweet face, how can Andy ever be a naughty kitty?

With that sweet face, how can Andy ever be a naughty kitty?

But he is…!

When I first put this poster of Louie as Captain Me-Ow on the wall, the first thing Andy did as soon as I stepped back to see how it looked was tug on the bottom strip of the frame.

Yep, though the photo was centered in the frame and held in place by static electricity, Andy’s curiosity about the frame broke the bond.  The photo has been cock-eyed in the frame ever since!

To love a cat is to accept a bit of chaos in one's life! Things one learns from one's cats...!

“But why didn’t you try to straighten it out?”

Ha! Only someone who doesn’t have a cat would ask that question! 🙁 <3

Post 347: Andy was very playful this morning!

I pulled out a new peacock feather to play with Dougy. When I sat down on the glider, Andy hopped up on his favorite front room perch, the light stand. His interest piqued by what I had in my hand, he soon began playing the old game of “Feather” like he did as a kitten.

“I have to make a video of this,” I thought. It’s one thing to tell people Andy’s feeling a lot better. It’s another to show him playing, proof of it!

Andy sees the peacock feather...

Andy sees the peacock feather…

Andy definitely was wound this morning, as this video shows:

There you go. Andy was very playful this morning!

Post 345: Andy’s veterinarian appointment.

After a bad start (Andy didn’t want to be captured to be transported to the veterinarian’s), the appointment went well. Andy’s making good progress on blood pressure and his heart, though he needs to continue the medication till his next appointment in May, perhaps longer.

He’s acting like he feels better, and the examination supports that observation! Thank you all for your thoughts and consideration while we work through Andy’s medical issues!

Post 343: What Andy saw…

What captured Andy’s attention yesterday while monitoring the error check I had run on my computer? Why was he transfixed?

The error check screen, of course!

The error check screen, of course!

Andy thought the computer error check screen was fascinating. I made a video showing how file data flashed by, the sort of thing a cat is bound to get wrapped up watching! It’s short. I’m pleased with how it turned out. Take a look!

“Mrow!” Andy said, which I’m pretty sure means he wants you to see it. Dougy might pull your leg, but Andy is as somber as a Presbyterian. Watch it, please. Don’t make a kitty cry! Those big Persian eyes will rip your heart out when they fill with tears!

Andy thanks you!
