09Oct25: a busy day…

Andy wanted on the table, but I was blocking the way.
Why was he assuming the “gimme some, too” position?
Well it was Bret and my coffee and rolls day. I made better-tasting-than-
looking butter scotch chip-pecan banana muffins.
Andy wouldn’t like them.
But beg…
…beg…
…beg…
…pout…
…and beg he did!

Later, I tried out a simple coin sorter and wrap gizmo I just got.
It beats having loose coins in a Ziploc baggie.
Coins that don’t total a wrapper full still can be stored in the coin “vaults” till I get enough to look like a full wrapper ‘s worth.
Then, I will empty it, count out the number of coins needed for that wrapper to be full.

It’s laborious, but more fun than having all the coins in that baggie.

I donate the coins. when I have US$50 or so to a group that helps provide food for needy children in my hometown. When the coins don’t amount to a nice sum, I sometimes add some currency to the loot.

Pathetic as it is in this rich country, there actually is a lot of poverty and there are food-deprived children and families in the USA. My small town is no exception. My help is appreciated, I know.

I will spare you the sermon about so-called Christian nationalist billionaires and millionaires who do proportionately less than poor me! (BUT I AM THINKING IT!)

These coins are change I get when paying for things. They accumulate really fast and mostly are 25-cent and 10-cent coins, with 1-cent and 5-cent coins frequently received,
too.

I haven’t received a 50-cent or dollar coin in change in years.
