Very refreshing, too! I remember exhausting holidays of the past and am glad they are past, too! I don’t suffer the indulgences of too much food and drink now, rarely have rich candies around to tempt me.
I need to check out Boxing Day, which isn’t observed here…. (He checks it out and comes back to this comment….() Oh! Alms for the poor and/or shop sales now….
Anyway, I hope you are feeling better now. I’d stay warm, in bed till I did!
If there are children in the home, traditional Christmases are fun, but when there are not, this is a better way to take stress out of one’s life! We finally got snow later on Christmas Day, and that brought to mind your famous chili!
I’m at the same stage, too. I decided to eat through as much of the food in the house as possible instead of adding more to what was there and available. I waste too much by having it around till it’s questionable to eat. That’s especially true of things in the freezer! I’ve reached the point where I finally can see the bad stuff at the back of shelves on the refrigerator and in the freezer, so will pull that out and start fresh after a trip to the grocery store. Shockingly, I found ice cream hidden in the freezer! I hate to think how old that is.
I’ve done some of that, arranging for a visit after New Year’s and a happy long-distance call to my friends Chris and Pam in Katy, Texas whenever we can get it worked out for a time, again, after the 1st.
I try for a bit of light humor sometimes on my posts, so am pleased you appreciate that! And I especially appeciate your comment because it tells me I’ve achieved my goal!

A day of rest is logical.

I don’t know about you, Doug, but Mr Andy did something very important – he slept.
Indeed!
I agree! I tried his approach and came through the holiday very rested.
Merry Christmas !
Thanks!
Sometimes, that’s the best way to celebrate!
Yes! Holidays sometimes necessitate a week’s vacation for recover otherwise. Andy and I are fresh for 2024.
Same. I wasn’t feeling well and mostly slept from Xmas eve till 1pm today.
Happy Boxing Day!

I mostly stayed in bed. I’m in SoCal but live the idea of this “holiday”!!
😂🎅 I love it! Same program here, Doug…

Wow Doug. The latest pot was eaten this morning. More and a bit different ingredients are needed.

Your freezer must be huge to lose ice cream in it!
Stuff was put over it and it was inside a lidless plastic box originally there to hold ice cubes, on its side.
There is nothing wrong with a quiet Christmas day, Doug. Peace and many blessings to you and Andy. 🙂❤️🐱🎄🌟❄️
We enjoyed it, believe me! I hope you and Rick finally got your play dates dealt with so you could settle down and relax!
Been doing a little visiting, but a few year end things to take care of, too.

Peace and rest; l’un ronronne et dort, l’autre ??? amitiés pour les deux 🙂
J’ai probablement ronflé !
Has a strong resemblance to what we did at my house. Except for the occasional case of zoomies. A peaceful and satisfying day!
Oh dear! I guess zoomies are fun for participants, too!
Sounds like a wonderful day!
No stress day, it was! Lovely!
A good snooze, and layabout, can be a thing of beauty!
I came through it as relaxed as a cat!

“Gone to the Beach”! I wish! Merry Christmas, GP!
Love you guys! You bring a smile to my face. 😁

That sounds like the best day! Louis Catorze didn’t do much more, although he was able to fit in a roll around in the excess wrapping paper.
That’s fun, too!
I did nothing either! If we didn’t live so far away, I would have come over with some goodies.
Yeah, we could have had eggnog or tea, and a nice chat!
I hope that was OK
That it was! The hubbub of the holidays passes us by, and these days, that is fine by me!
Fully understood
