28Apr23: gimme air…

I’ve entered a new phase.

I guess…

…Andy has, too!

=(^+^)=

I am on oxygen 24/7 now. Getting used to maneuvering with tanks and tubing is a bit tedious, but the happy news is it helps me feel much better than I had felt in recent past. I was on oxygen briefly in 2003-2004. It is possible I will be on it briefly again, depending on how my lungs respond. (I probably will stay on it is my guess.) Andy has been curious about the tubing yet very good about it, too. As long as he doesn’t bite and puncture it, we will be OK!

  1. I’m glad the oxygen is making you feel better! Hopefully it will be temporary, or you’ll find it easier to manuver with practice! Cute Andy pics!

    • I’m more concerned about the surprising weight of the small travel canisters and how I am best off not carrying it on my fistula side. My other side, however, is the side I use my cane when I’m not using my walker. It’s not comfortable and I feel off-balance.

        • There are wheeled carriers for the larger cannisters. The smaller one has a carrying case that I think can be worn on one’s back – haven’t really spent time figuring it out. It makes me feel off balance at this point so – don’t tell anyone! – I haven’t used the dang ting outside of my home. The trip to the dialysis unit is about five minutes, and the got me on oxygen right away. I doubt RI was off it 15 minutes total and my oxygen level was still in the high percentage.

    • I do them with a walker, which has brought out a new respect for the efficacy of a well-spoken, um, blasphemous outburst of frustration and despair. LOL! Fortunately, by week’s end, I’ve picked up so tricks that minimize my frustration.

    • I definitely feel spunkier, though it will take some time to get the “dance steps” needed to maneuver around with the tubing and heavy cannister (out-of-house mode).
