01Sep24: Andy’s confused…

Andy is confused. This guy he didn’t know was by the television doing things. (A Spectrum technician was changing out the old modem and router, something scheduled last week when their telephone technical support person determined mine were technological “antiques”!)

Things are different!

First, the cactus scratching post disappeared.

The recliner and stacked carriers have moved out of the familiar position.

The space between the recliner and glide rocker is much closer.

What Andy is unaware of is a mess made by the air conditioner – filter and/or clogged drain hole issue resulting in drainage into the front room, with a soaked carpet, cactus scratching post, and more that I have yet to find.

After sorting out the changes, he tried out how this affected his recliner arrangement…

…and took a brief nap.

Best of all, Andy found he still can hop from the recliner footrest over to the ottoman! Greenies snack time us secure!

Though I mentioned it because there are noticeable changes in the photos and in Andy’s behavior, I don’t want to answer questions or mention the air conditioner and the drainage matter beyond what I have so far.

It is tedious enough taking care of the mess and living with it. I’ve contacted the maintenance fellow  and my neighbor has helped with early matters.

I appreciate your cooperation!

Andy doesn’t know it yet, but I ordered a new cactus scratching post. Water soaked into the scratcher, which fell apart when I tried to move it off the wet spot. The new one is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday.

    • He tolerates some change, but not much. I recently switched to a different water fountain that is simpler and easier to maintain than the one I’ve had for years. That one is hard to clean because of the number of parts and easy to reassemble but get it wrong if you miss the water tube. The new one is stainless steel, and all the moving parts are easily accesses for cleaning or starting the fountain up. I switched to spring water, too, since the local water us very heavily mineralized.

  1. Doggie pee pads might do the job. They could be placed under the AC unit until you can get someone to come in. That would catch the water and can be changed out daily. Wish I was closer by and could help!
