It’s Halloween, Andy. You cleaning up to go trick or treating?

It’s black cat season, you know, when it’s Halloween!

Yeah! It’s probably a better idea if you stay in tonight. You need your kitty naps anyway.

It’s Halloween, Andy. You cleaning up to go trick or treating?

It’s black cat season, you know, when it’s Halloween!

Yeah! It’s probably a better idea if you stay in tonight. You need your kitty naps anyway.

Andy likes to take his bath on top of the recliner.

Lick!

Lick! Lick! Lick!

“Puhlease! I’m taking a bath, Douglas!”

More kitty parts to clean.

Just about done…

…now Andy’s ready for a kitty nap!

“Look up, Andy!”

Andy did look up where I pointed, to my amazement, and…

…saw the wasp on the ceiling, too.

I guess even Andy realizes this wasp is out of his reach. So much for excitement.

Bret came over yesterday for a roll and coffee. He’s my neighbor across the lane, and he has been a big help bringing in groceries, saving me considerable effort and time. Andy thinks he’s worthy of kitty attention time. He goes right to Bret.

If one spot isn’t comfortable enough…

…Andy can find another.

Zzzz…

It’s a kitty cat world!

Later, it was a perfect perch for a sweet kitty cat bath!

Nothing new here, eh?

Andy eating Greenies requires a little tongue maneuvering…barely seen here.

Tongued into place, that Greenie is kitty chow now!

Nom! Nom!

Then it’s time…

…to clean up.

That tongue gets lots of exercise!

All that food eating tires my kitty boy out!

I woke up from a nap at the same time Andy did.

Where were you, Doug? I missed you.”

I knew I had doggy smell on me…

…because I pet Tootsie!

Andy was curious, yet suspicious, too.

“I suspect you ate food where you went. You did leave the place, I know!”

“Yes, I ate food and enjoyed the company of old friends, Andy!”

“I made deviled eggs with all those eggs I boiled yesterday and took them over there to share. We had lots of yummy food! I took a second helping of that apple crumble dessert. Mmmm

Friday was the monthly Class of 1966 luncheon. There was goid turnout, including some new people and one who hadn’t been able to come for several months. As always, good food and conversation were the joy of the day!

Andy came around.

I was busy, but Andy needed to do his mousie audit of the kitchen cabinets.

…I was running behind on making deviled eggs for my Class of 1966 monthly get-together.

I boiled 12 eggs because one can count on a few to end up weird and unusable. Well, I am able to use the yolk and snack on the whites of these failures! Out of 12, three were broken or otherwise unusable.

The new doctor in dialysis has a new policy that if you have a fall, you need to have a CT scan. I had a temper tantrum when this little detail was dropped on me just as I was preparing to leave dialysis. The fall was more of a stumble, with no pain beyond the initial stumble. There was no bruising, either. I didn’t even hit the floor, just a light brush with my face against my walker. The CT scan felt excessive. Oh well, I got through it all. I look forward to the get-together later this morning.

Too many Greenies! Andy can’t comprehend it.

I break the spell: “Andy!” I call his name.

“It’s massage the kitty time, Andrew!”

Moments after this photo was taken, a split second actually, Andy hopped off the ottoman. It was NOT massage the kitty time after all.

Turned out Andy just wanted to take a kitty snooze. So much for loving.

Andy is a stoic kitty at the veterinarian’s, as you know.

So, when his veterinarian came into the examination room…

…he didn’t get unruly or whine when she opened the carrier to lift him out.

Of course, Dr. Olejnik has a gentle, soothing “bedside manner” with little fuzzballs!

She examined his ears and listened to his heart. He was patient and a very good kitty!

Then it was time to make a new follow-up appointment and to pay the bill.

“There’s a MOUSE, Andy!”

Andy was happy to return home.

The follow-up in two weeks is to see if the hyperthyroidism treatments are working or if there are any complications from the medicine. He’ll have another procedure to evaluate his heart. He has a heart murmur, a condition we’ve known about for several years. Andy is in pretty good shape, though, for a 13-year-old kitty, so don’t, be concerned.
