In any photo this time of year, those light colored patches of hair are shedding hair. Andy starts scratching and tugging these off his body. The carpet is a hair mat!
Sometimes, I can help him by brushing the loose hair out, but it isn’t a total solution.

The tummy fur tends to get particularly tangled. Wynken had long hair. She did not tangle as much as Andy, but she did get some, especially on the tummy.
The tummy hair is shorter and, I think, worse for tiny, hard to deal with mats.

Andy preferring fresh greenies is understandable. Combing hair over a bald spot is common.
Yes, the combover works when you have long, thick hair elsewhere!
Doug
Andy, because you are the best, we know you expect the best always… and thanks to your wonderful Dad, you always receive the best.. the best Greenies, the best food, the best care… Doug, hoping you continue to feel better and better each day… wishing a good day ahead for you and Andy…
I try to meet that standard anyway.

My cats love to be brushed. If I pull it out they are both on the ledge meowing! Sasha has long hair but not as long as Andy’s. She rarely gets matted. Gus has short bristle-y hair that never mats. Glad your lump is finally going down.
Andy likes his chest and chin brushed but that’s it.
Yes, the bumps slowly going away!
Doug
Still bruised though
Yep! Of course, at my age, hematoma sprout like spring flowers! Ha!
Doug
🐱I hope you are doing OK buddy 😉
Yes, things are progressing well! Thanks!
Doug
Andy, you picky picky picky guy, you! Oh yeah those Matt’s on the kitties with the long fur, always a mess to untangle! The swelling does look better!
Dang autocorrect … Should be “those matts”
Yeah, I hate it, too! If you miss a “correction” , it can make you look sunliterate!
Doug
Those mats are a literal pain for Andy. I like it when he works them off by himself, but some are in hard places to reach
Doug
Oops, partly my fault about autocorrect as I did misspell “mats” as “matts”.
