…drink in his fountain next to his wet food feeding station. Dry food and treats are his favorite, but he needs more taurine in his diet than these provide. A supplement is added to his wet food for that. (One plays this game of trying to get a healthy balance among his food sources, but it never works out predictably!)

Years ago, a friend at work told me she was taking a bit of time off to visit her family in Mexico.

She brought me this coin! Love it! Love it!
Who is Juana de Asbaje? That’s your homework today, Dear Reader. Extra credit if you can tell the story of the eagle eating a snake on a cactus and how it ended a migration to find a place to build a major world city in it’s time and now, same city, different landlord. Mexican history is incredibly rich pre- and post- Conquistadores. Carlos Fuentes celebrated it in many of his books. That’s another Google-worthy name and destination. If you enjoy Latin American authors, Fuentes isn’t terribly hard reading, just intense and rich in history, with allusions to spirits of earlier times!

“No. kid! Let go of my leg, or I’ll thump you.”
I wouldn’t say or do that. When it happened to my bearded brother, he just went along with it. Dick was a very nice man!

A little Andy “stuff.”

…is ready for a nap.
My girls have a Water fountain too and they love it!
Mine had one from kittenhood, and hydration never was a issue with them, or Andy now.

You look bright today
I feel that way, too!
Doug
Cool coin, but I am too lazy to research the story. 🙂
I did once, but was too lazy to recall how you copy a whole article. You caught me! LOL!
Doug
I have heard the legend of the eagle with the rattlesnake in its beak perched on a cactus signifying where to locate what became Mexico City (first called Tenochtitlan), I’ll have to research the saint.
Yes, exactly! The saint I looked up once. Too exhausted to do any more that time, though.

Doug, always a fascinating post to read from you.. thank you, thank you! A cursory search of Juana de Asbaje proved intriguing. The gold coin is a work of art, too. Hope Andy continues to eat his food and maintains his weight; i know we were all quite concerned for him those months back. Best wishes for good weekend for you and Andy…
I think he still is a bit too thin, but he eats those lots of food. Perhaps his problem is yet to be revealed.
Doug
I agree, fascinating reading to look into to when I can get to all the reading I am currently behind on! 🙂 I am glad to see you and Andy enjoying time together, eating and taking good naps. Life is good!
I can appreciate you reading comment
I could spend whole days, weeks getting caught up.
Doug
Always a challenge, getting the kitties to eat all the healthy stuff! Marvelous Andy pics! That does sound like fascinating reading … Can’t do for some time yet, must find old photos and edit them during my few good working hours …
Photos can get both important to organize and more important to do pretty much ss sokn as possible!(as we get older and forget names of people)
