There seems not to be an appropriate greeting for July 14th, but may my French friends celebrate this day with the Tricolor flying boldly and proudly above one of my favorite countries!

Thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nice.
Tragic. An unimaginable mentality that drives someone to do such a vile thing. At least the police shot and killed the son of a bitch.
It was a great 14 July but the end has been saddened in Nice by a murderer attack . When will the peace come ?
Thanks , Doug , to celebrate with us the Natonal French feast.
In friendship
Michel
I is beyond me how anyone could be so twisted they would treat innocent people as if they were nothing. Again, at least the police killed the son of a bitch. I am sorry for you and your fellow citizens of France, Michel.
Thanks, Doug.
You are welcome. We need to stand together in times like these.
Very nice post.
Thanks. I am sorry they had to have the holiday spoiled with the tragedy in Nice, but the French are a resilient people.
Reblogged this on saywhatumean2say and commented:
Give the boyz a little kitty champagne from me; that is tuna oil over toast. THANX for a rousing post Dougy’s & Andy’s Daddy. ~~dru~~
Thanks for the reblog! The boys truly enjoyed the kitty treat on their birthday. The tuna lasted for two more days, and they eat it with as much enthusiasm each day!
That was a stirring moment in the film, and must have been especially so considering it was made during WWII when the French were still under Nazi occupation. The territories, I think, were under Vichy French control.
Having an army of French ancestors I usual buy a bottle of French wine and Toast “Vive la France”. You are right about no special greeting but they do have fireworks.
I’m listening now to the terrible events in Nice…. What an awful thing to happen on any day, but especially when people are in celebration.
Happy Bastille Day Andy, Dougie and your dad. I gather the song is the French Anthem…..clever aren’t I? MOL
Shoko
Good guess!
Powerful lyrics…
That they are. No wonder the French rally to it. It’s a beautiful and stirring anthem!
