In less than five wild minutes, I was able to remove some of Andy’s huge butt mats. I think I have one or two more to remove – Andy was upset being held on his back for the removals, hence the human blood sacrifice – and all of the wiggling and “murder mitten” action was as much as I felt like dealing with at one shot! Even then, the new grooming kit proved to be worth the $40 or so it cost.
I think cats ultimately like getting rid of the mats. They pull the fur which must be uncomfortable.
Maybe you should get Brett to help when he visits.
It’s a possibility, though our visits are relatively brief.

Sorry you ended up bleeding.
It’s the price one oays for having a kitty!

That looks like a great grooming kit for the money, Doug. Where did you get it from?
Amazon prime, though it’s probably available elsewhere, too.

That’s an impressive tool kit. I hope Andy doesn’t mind being trimmed too much.
He does, but once the big ones are gone and I’m grooming him before the big ones form, things should get easier for both of us.

Those are huge mats! Glad the blood was human and not cat or you would not see him when you pulled out the kit. I do butt trims on Sasha. She’s not a fan but I’m not a fan of dingleberries hanging there.
I hear you there, Kate!
With decent arsenal of grooming tools again, Andy and I should be able to keep ahead of the mats.

Cats hear sounds we can’t … Maybe Andy looked for something he heard … Those are big ole mats and that does sound like an excellent grooming kit!
Yes, it must have been something different than what he’s heard before, given his reaction!
I am pleased with the kitty. The electric trimmer in particular was impressive.
