30Sep25: hanging out…

Andy…
…is…
…hanging…
…out.
Go kitty! Go kitty! Yeah!

29Sep25: Uh oh! Andy is wary!

Andy’s wary.
Why?
He’s staying out of reach now.
I brushed several small mats out of his coat with this fine-toothed brush, and…
…and pulled apart several others along his spine. It was a very productive operation!

28Sep25: day of rest…

Andy stopped by.
“Here for Greenies?”
He paused for a moment.
“There’s more to being a kitty than treats, Doug.”
“Like doing nothing, then having a nap….”
“Of course, Andy! And there’s always this!”

Purr! Purr! Purr!

Finally!

27Sep25: random kitty poses…Andy cooperates at last!

Kitty foot pillow shot.
Close-up edited out of previous shot.
Long shot – hee! hee!
Andy checks the news.
And it was something else.
Andy looks great against blue!
Another close-up edited out of the last previous photo….
Andy finally had to have a nap.
Andy often sleeps or just lies on his back.

=(^+^)=

Today is my Class of 1966 group’s monthly luncheon

I’m taking an apple pie. Lasagna is on the “agenda” for our get-together! I may stop by the liquor store for a bottle of Chianti, too.

26Sep25: interrupted…

Andy was busy watching the news.
I called his name.
“Hey! What do you need that’s so important, Doug?!”
“I need to keep up on the news if I’m going to be a good citizen-cat.”
Cats! I reminded him that cats can’t vote in this country. They are here to amuse humans and to pose nicely for photos.
“You are missing out on a lot, Doug, but here’s a nice pose for you. Are you amused, too?”
I sensed rebellion coming up….

25Sep25: we slept the day away…

I piled the pillow higher today.
That gave Andy a better chance to rest more comfortably on it.
You figure it out: this is Andy’s head, but what are we looking at? I think it was upside down, and his nose at the far right, pressed against the pillow.

=(^×^)=

Today’s, Wednesday’s coffee and baked goods were blueberry-banana-pecan muffins, made with blueberry yogurt substituted for the water. They were tasty, if a bit dense.

After Bret and I were through, I went to bed. I slept from around 8:20 till 12:37.
Andy had a Greenies snack, then..
…a nap followed…
…of course!

24Sep25: a little pause…

Andy in repose….
We had a slow day at this end of Nebraska.
Of course, a pause to eat a Greenie or two or more was inevitable.
As were several naps.
I mean SERIOUS naps!
Then another nap.

=(^+^)=

(He should be well rested by now!)

Of course, being a crepuscular being, once the sun sunk in the west, Andy “crepusculated” like a proper kitty!

“Precrepusculation” shot of Andy.
Later, after Andy’s “zoomies” attack, I brought out the kitty toys and played till he was ready to take a rest. It was fun for all!

23Sep25: Andy’s rough day…

Amdy had a rough day.
Doug groomed his tail.
He got lots of matted hair off it, but Andy had to put up with lots of discomfort.
It took a long time before he felt comfortable getting on the ottoman.
He did take his chance, though.
Doug offered an apologetic hand. Andy accepted and the rest of the day went well!
He slept with his tail pointing away from Doug…just in case!
Yes, things got much better as the day played out.

22Sep25: Andy knows that sound!

When Andy heard it…
…he…
…hurried over to the counter…
…where I’d just popped the tuna can lid with the can opener.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Andy thought, “Tuna water!”
I put it down and Andy hurried over.
Yes, tuna water is a favorite treat. Andy won’t eat the tuna, but the packing liquid is slurped down.
He saves a little for later since it’s too much to drink at one time.
Anyway, after tuna water, Andy needs a nap.

21Sep25: letting me know…

I felt a presence.
Then…
…Andy…
…patted my arm several times…
…to let me know, “It’s ‘feed the kitty time’, Doug!!”

=(^+^)=

Yes, I noticed it, too: whatever caught on his left whiskers probably was in a place I haven’t cleaned behind or under. I suspect he was hunting for kitty food. I not that two bowls of dry special Royal Canin Persian cat food were full to the top of the rim, which in kitty terms Andy judged to be empty. I put more of it in one of the cc two bowls, and Andy’s tummy was full again.
