The happy solution for both: a saucer for Andy. I know he won’t want much of the ice, that licking it on the lapboard it either leaves a wet mess, or it is licked over the edge of the lapboard. All the mess is contained in the saucer.

What does Andy look like “blonded out”?

And the ice cube remnant still didn’t show in the photo.
More ice for Andy! You must have had some autumn sun coming in the window, or a warm toned strong light to give him blond highlights.
Iy’s an optics thing. He looks black most of the time.

I don’t think my cats like ice but I don’t know for sure. I never gave them any.
I’ve offered Andy ice in his water during hot weather, but this is ice in a saucer or directly on the lapboard on the ottoman during cooler weather…. He really likes it.
Doug
ooh ice ice baby…
Weird, but it beats eating plastic or knocking things off shelves.

Happy kitty
One hopes so!

Melt contained, 😎 cool! or rather, slightly less cool than the cube was before it melted … Andy looks fabulous!
Yes, I have no problem washing that saucer in hot, soapy water to get the cat cooties off it! LOL.
He is looking nice these days.
