21Feb26: the banana was getting marginally too ripe.

A banana that approaches “too ripe” makes a perfect peanut butter- banana-on-toast sandwich.
Andy, of course, was sure kitties would like it.
He watched me closely while I ate it.
Eventually, he decided it probably wasn’t for kitties.
To which I saluted him with my coffee!
Greenies are for kitties, but you know that, Andy.

  1. I don’t see why overripe bananas wouldn’t work for a for peanut butter sandwich. Sounds like a good combo of nutrients. Yes, those kitties are always interested in what the humans are eating!

    • Before they get too ripe, you can pinch them along three places (you can see these spots) and the banana separates into three ling sections that work better in this sandwich than using an uncut one. It is a peanut bluster lover’s sandwich, something somewhat centered on the USA.

  2. Doug, am finding that your posts are prompting a better appetite in me!! Your meals look yummy… And nothing like an old tried and true peanut butter and banana on toast with hot coffee on these wintery days. Andy you darling heart, so nice you are enjoying that repast with your Dad… best wishes for the day ahead.

    • I’m working on improving my eating habits after my last blood analysis showed me below the norm in four critical areas, protein being one. I would be comfortable eating toast and tea if not forcing myself to prepare more nutritionally-balanced fare.
