=(^+^)=
I am scheduled for cancer surgery on the 20th, a Friday.
Though I expected to stay hospitalized till the next day, the transportation doesn’t run on weekends. I will be in the hospital, then, till the 23rd, a Monday. That means I will be hospitalized on the 22nd, my 78th birthday. I think I should make a big deal about that to see what the hospital does about satisfying a brat. Ha!
One of the dialysis staff, who has three cats of her own, will look in on Andy, but the first day and a half, my sister and niece will still be here. My sister will care for Andy for that time. I know she is anxious to get back to Saki, her kitty girl!
Though I would have preferred this all happened after my sister and niece returned to Dallas, all of those things I was worried about have been dealt with by the various hospital people involved. I will be glad to have this operation dealt with and over. It’s been nearly a quarter year since I discovered the lump!
Fingers crossed everything goes well. A successful surgery would be an excellent birthday present.
Yes, indeed!
Doug
Best of luck with the surgery, Doug
Thanks! I’ve waited a long time for it.
Doug
I am glad to hear you are finally able to go in now to get that lump removed, and that you have good carers there for Andy, too. Your sister, niece and the dialysis staff member are angels! Thoughts and prayers are with you and Andy, and all who will be helping you through this in some way. What a way to spend your 78th birthday, Doug! I hope they can do something for you in the hospital.
It’s a good hospital, one I’ve been in several times. They have some improvements over the year that this retired quality management system auditor recogbize as best of class, topping even three major hospitals I’ve been in. That is to note: I expect a higher level of performance and treatment in THAT hospital.
Doug
Andy sure likes the Greenies. I hope the surgery gets the cancer out, and that it hasn’t spread. 🙏
Crossing my fingers, T.W.
I intend to interrogate the staff about the long delays in taking the cancer out. If it HAS spread, they don’t know what this mostly pretty nice guy can rev up to be when confronted with negligence and stupidity. My temper can shock even me!
Doug
It is sad that it takes so long to treat cancer once it is found. I am glad you will have some family with you. You are in my prayers.
Yes, things sorted themselves out in ways that are beneficial.
Doug
The lump has been detected three months ago and the surgery is just now? I will keep you in my thoughts, you are needed.
Yes. So it was there before three months. I think the time frame deserves an explanation from the surgeon or someone.
Doug
Indeed it does. Why did they not operate immediately?
Sending many blessings and will keep you in my prayers.
Thank you, Rasma!
Doug
You are having hard times now, sending lots of prayers for you, everything will be fine.
Thanks! I tend to handle surgery without complications or much post-operation discomfyort. The worst part will be some adjustments for taking showers.
Doug
Loving prayers and best wishes being sent to you and Andy… all will be well Doug, and you’ll soon be home healing and recuperating… with your dear Andy… here your friends will celebrate your birthday with you when home…
I know the worst part will be all that time away from Andy!
Doug
I wish you the best and Andy too. It’s too bad you can’t get transportation to come home earlier but maybe it’s best.
I’ve concluded that, too. I get a couple days of rest between surgery and the ride home!
Doug
I wish you well and hope for the best…..chuq
Thanks. chuq. I typically do well in surgery.
Doug
We’ll be with you in spirit, Doug. My sister Jacqueline is having her knee done on the same day
Best wishes on the knee! After the pain of a bad one, my Mom (two knees replaced) said even the recovery pain was nothing to her! I hope Jacqueline’s experience is the same!
Doug
Thanks very much, Doug
All good wishes and purrs from the kitties and me for a successful surgery and a rapid recovery, Doug! Head scitches and Greenies galore to Andy!
Thanks!
Doug
