A severe storm warning was issued for this area, to end around 10:30 pm July 4th. I am writing this in the mid-afternoon of the 4th of July holiday, so I have no idea what happened or if the predictions of hail, strong winds, property damage came true.

Andy and I just had to wait it out.

When I woke up the yesterday morning, I lazed in bed till I realized it was Tuesday, a dialysis day. I wrestled with the thought that it also was a holiday, but they hadn’t handed out a note giving us the alternative times to come in. I got cleaned up, though, because there was a chance I needed to go in, holiday or not!
It was a happy moment when I turned in to the hospital parking lot and I saw three familiar vehicles, all belonging to nurses at the unit. We had dialysis, I was there on time, and I learned the only holidays we switched times around on are Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Strangely, even though I’ve been on dialysis here since 2016, I hadn’t noticed this holiday pattern!
