10Aug24: Thanks for the treats…bye!

Oftentimes, Andy stops by just long enough for some treats, then he scrambles off on important kitty business elsewhere.

=(^+^)=

My neighbor, Bret, and I had rolls and coffee for breakfast yesterday morning.

Talk is a big part of this occasional event. Poor Bret! I’m at that stage of life where I have a million stories, most of them sort of true. LOL!

Andy likes Bret and hangs out with us till Bret goes home. Andy rarely gets this familiar with people.

    • It pleases me, too. My neighbor has been a big help bringing in groceries, for one thing. I try to discourage help so I don’t become d3pendent on others doing something I am capable of doing for myself. On the other hand, I’ve tried to learn not to discourage others doing good deeds. I do let the good-deeders know I appreciate their help, though I also need to do things for myself if I can. It’s a quandary!

      • I understand that quandary, Doug. I sometimes have to stop myself from getting the mail for my neighbor in his 90s, because it’s better for him to get the exercise if the weather is okay for him to do it.

    • He’s a good Christian fellow. I know “Christian” gets a negative response many times and in lands, yet, by my understanding of the Biblical instruction to love you neighbor ad yourself, Bret is someone who takes it to heart. He’s just a good person and Andy even agrees with that!
