31Jul24: His Majesty…

Andy may be a republican but his tail is majestic!

30Jul24: mysteries baffle man and beast here…

Andy can only wonder about those words I speak when, once again, I am missing the television remote.

He seems concerned.

I mean, he knows about the meatloaf pan by the ottoman that holds these remotes, each one of which turns on and controls the television!

=(×+×)=

Seriously, Roku televisions often post possible selections that might interest you in a way that prevents you from seeing what you wanted to see until you accept or reject the unsolicited option. For that reason, you need to have a remote handy at all times.

To assure a remote is handy for these annoyances, I place one in my shirt pocket.

(Andy gives up on me!)

To date, the original one that came with the television is lost somewhere in the front room. After I lost that remote, I went without television till two ordered from Amazon arrived a few days later. Roku televisions are free of conveniences such as manual controls!

I keep losing remotes out of pockets. One got washed with the shirt with it in the pocket, ironically, since most losses are from the dang things falling out of my shirt pocket and me not being aware it has happened!

Over time, I’d find myself down to one remote in the meatloaf pan I use to try to know where the television, radio, and air conditioner remotes are, so I would order two more from Amazon…”just in case I  never find the others. Amazon sells them two for $9.95 or something like that. Apparently, these remotes go missing a lot. necessitating multiple customer purchases each time. Ha!

My Amazon VISA points accumulate fast enough that I’ve applied them to purchases all but once, making this display of purchased-then-lost- then-found-again-after- the-next-purchased remotes mostly free or free except for some shipping and handling.

I confess, though, that I thought I currently had only three remotes, yet I found four mixed in the mess next to the chair I sit in, one was in my pocket, one was on the floor next to the ottoman, and one was in the meatloaf pan I use to help me keep track of the remotes that seem destined never to be there!

An eighth one popped up while I was writing this. So, along with the one that came with the television that flew through the air and landed somewhere in the living room – can’t explain how that happened! – I have nine remotes to control one television. Of course, the ninth one might be that missing remote that started this whole mess.

29Jul24: a troubling start to Andy’s day..

!

Andy stopped by.

He bugged me for attention.

So I reached down, picked him up, and held him hostage for a long, long time. He was not amused!

=(>+<)=

Andy was using light claw work to get my attention today.  When he does that, he gets picked up for unwanted loving. As you know, getting picked up and held is not Andy’s favorite thing!

28Jul24: “Is this a strike?”

Andy’s had a busy, long week.

He doesn’t feel like doing anything for Sunday’s post.

That’s OK, kitty! You never get relief from cabinet mousies and cleaning up Greenies. Take today off!

=(^+^)=

Kitty tears can be very compelling!

27Jul24: table manners…

Andy samples the treat.

Sniffs it to assure freshness, I guess.

Assigns an eat order to all the treats….

Watch it now…

…it’s all in the way he uses his tongue!

Cats are amazing.

26Jul24: Andy risked bring picked up…

He lost!

=(^+^)=

Andy should know by now that I like holding him, so be careful walking too close to me.

25Jul24: in which I try to distract Andy from Greenies…

Andy stopped by. Which will win, loving or Greenies?

Looking bad for loving….

I pull out the back scritch. If that doesn’t change the thrust of this competition, nothing will.

Nope! He’s back on the Greenies.

Just about a distraction win. So loving might have a chance?

Greenies win. (And they don’t pay me to say it!) Andy made his choice and hurt my feelings. Boo hoo!

=(>+<)=

Andy has eaten through just about a whole tub of Greenies before auto-ship replenishments could arrive. Lucky for him, it just happens the new supply arrives today@

24Jul24: “Not now!”

“Not now!”

=(^+^)=

Andy just wants me to cool it today.

23Jul24: I guess Andy isn’t into  noir…

Andy stopped by to watch a little television with me.

All right! “Noir Alley” time! This one has Raft and Mayo and Morgan and Burr! It ought to be pretty good.

Andy didn’t last long. Maybe it’s because of the religious theme × murder mystery combo. It is a bit of a stretch.
Speaking of stretch…Andy’s stretched out and slumbering through the movie.
He woke up and decided the movie still is a bit much of a stretch, but kitty treats are forever!

=(^+^)=

That movie was…um…pretty goofy, though Raymond Burr’s character turns out to be the bad guy, of course.

In the process of running from the George Raft character, with lots of bullets zinging everywhere till Burr empties his gun, Burr tries to evade capture by climbing onto an electric sign advertising Raft’s character’s trucking firm. It is raining cats and dogs and it is night because it is a noir film after all!

The finale is obvious, yet it turns out Burr’s character steps into an electrifried puddle, is electrocuted, and Raft pontificates about the Bible verse having to do with vengeance being Gxd’s business, not his. Of course, the whole film was about Raft trying to track down his brother the priest’s killer before the police could so he could kill the son of a female dog first!

I think Andy had the right idea on this film.

22Jul24: a short stop at the ottoman…

Andy stopped a short time for loving.

A little face rubbing will do!

Prepare to be booped, Andy.

Andy’s starting to reset his priorities.

Those Greenies are calling!

Nom! Nom! Nom!
