06Jan25: sleepy boy…

While I am at the hospital getting the fistula angioplasty, I’m sure Andy will spend most of his time sleeping.
He’s so sweet when he sleeps.
And cute!
Oh my! I can’t resist. He didn’t even wake up. Sweet dreams, my kitty!
He can do it on either side. So talented!
Cute on this side, too!
So soft!

The procedure I’m having today is relatively straight forward. It’s done under anesthesia. I never have pain from it afterward, and after an hour or so in recovery, I am ready to dress and return home. The biggest hassles are arranging for a ride to and from Scottsbluff and having most of a day tied up doing this.

Andy just woke up. Guess it’s time for me to amuse the cat.

Back to his naps.

  1. Good luck for your surgery! Is it a one-off or something that will have to be redone regularly? I hope everything goes well and that Andy will be a better nursemaid than Louis Catorze (although that’s setting the bar quite low!).

  2. Hope all goes well with the angioplasty! Yes, trying to find a ride to and from the clinic when you live alone and don’t have family nearby is a pain in the butt. The medical center I go to won’t allow me to take a taxi or Uber, either. It has to be an acquaintance or relative who brings you in, though it’s not clear why. One nurse told me it was because they didn’t want me passing out or having a bad reaction in a taxi, though I had one (former) friend who was absolutely worthless in making sure I was okay: she essentially tossed me out on the sidewalk in front of my house, saying she was late for a luncheon at some club she belonged to. I was still groggy from the anesthesia, so it was all a blur. I did find my way to bed, but I might as well have a cab bring me home. Anyway, hope Andy is nice to you when you get home!
