01Jul25: the Birthday Kitty Boy!

Andy’s adjusting well to our visitors!
This chair was brought onto the living room from the dining area because the third chair – the decrepit, cat-ravaged computer chair – is too big to move into this area and there are three of us for the first part of the week.
Andy is content to roost there, though.
No one else is using it just now.
He didn’t even scoot off it when my sister Kathy pet him.
I guarantee, if I moved toward him, he expects a mouthful of medicine at the time I photographed this storyline!
The birthday kitty boy is quite comfortable with my family being here. Yesterday, he even made an unsolicited friendly gesture toward my niece Shannon of putting his front paws on her leg! He lets my sister pet him, as you can see in the photos, and didn’t protest when she kissed him on the head, a gesture she uses on her kitty girl, Saki!

=(^+^)=

My sister and niece are helping out big time by sorting through our parents’ old clothes for donation to Good Will. They also are taking a couple printers that are DOA and just taking up space I don’t have lots of here.

(Andy’s off on important kitty business again….)

Though I have a new vacuum cleaner and got the front room, dining area, and kitchen vacuumed Sunday, they came on this visit with the plan to help dust and clean for me. They even brought a vacuum, not knowing I bought a new one recently!

(Andy had a mid-day snack it turned out, then went into the guest bedroom to check out what Kathy and Shannon were sorting things out for donation.)

The day they came, they even took a big load of trash out for me. Maybe I should invite them to stay longer LOL!

Regardless, I appreciate what they are doing for me, especially since it wasn’t expected!

Kathy says she’s getting her kitty fix, thanks to Andy being a cooperative specimen of the species. She misses her kitty girl! I know how that goes.
(Off on more kitty business! This us an exciting birthday for Andy. Yes, catnip and tuna water are in the works for his celebration.)

    • Thanks! Andy had a great day.

Saki is doing well, though my sister can’t wait to get back to her kitty girl. I know how that goes, from different times I was hospitalized. Andy gets lots of attention from my sister!

    • Thanks! I believe 14 cat years is something like 75-78 in human equivalent years. That is to say, roughly my age! Andy is in generally good health isn’t acting like a little old man, if not lika kitten. I do take him to the veyerinarian’s for routine care and for follow up appointment in tents in a heart murmur. A hyperthyroidism issue was brought into control with medication. Speaking of which, Andy hate, hate, hates his m medication time each day, but is a gojd boy most times when I give it to him. Of course, he makes catching himan endless strategy game that he sometimes wins.

    • Yes, I will miss family when they leave! My mother always said to leave cleaning till after guests left, though her house was always in much better states of order and cleanliness than my apartment. Thanks to my sister and niece, my intention to look into hiring someone to do what they did isn’t necessary.
Yes, Andy seems to enjoy having the extra attention!

    • He had a catnip fix but has to wait for the tuna water. The refrigerator is too full of things that need to be eaten first. If he’d eat the tuna and not just the water, it could be opened now. Since he won’t eat the tuna

  1. Happy Birthday, Andy! Today you have two humans to wait on you hand and foot! I hope they made a kitty cake for you , or some other suitable treat. And it sounds like Doug is getting some extra help as well! So useful!

    • Yes, the extra help is really being appreciated, too! As for Andy, he’s had his catnip but has to wait on the tuna water till the humans use up some food in the refrigerator.

  2. Awww, so nice that Andy is being so responsive to your visitors, and that the visitors are helping so much! A Happy Birthday 🎉 to Andy and good times to you and your family!

    • Yes, it is much appreciated help, too! That my niece was staying here till Wednesday instead of going immediately to visit family in South Dakota after arriving with my sister last Sunday wasn’t expected or that the two were going to help sort things out and clean up was a huge surprise!
