I had a Thanksgiving-style meal last Friday when I got together with my Class of 1966 friends. I turned down an offer of another Thanksgiving meal yesterday. There is such a think as too much of a good thing!

My Thanksgiving meal was a simpler one of ham, sweet potato, and green beans in mushroom soup – not “that” casserole, just green beans in a mushroom sauce.

I put some water in the refrigerator around 8 am so it would be icey cold in time for lunch. Yeah, it’s that American thing about icey cold drinks, though I skipped the ice cubes or Andy would want his share!

A final treat was to come!

Thanksgiving meal pushes for a nap. Andy looks very satisfied. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, Doug.
Mine was a week early, with my class of 1966 friends. Thanksgiving for one doesn’t work out very well since a typical meal involves so many special sides to the main event, that huge turkey!

Looks like a good scritch at the base of the tail hit the spot for Andy, Doug!
I’m turning our leftovers into soup stock.
Actually, turning it into soup stock sounds like a good way to use them! Freeze it then till it gets nice and cold, then make a hearty soup with barley or pasta in it. Lentils would be good, too.

Yes, that spot always gets the ourr motor going!

THat first photo of the lad, is just great, Doug. Furry of the Day!
That’s my favorite of the day, too!

Going on my blog, if you don’t mind. 👍🏼
We had ham too. Even a turkey breast is too big for us. I’ll try to be more creative next year.
Even a smallish is too much for me
I froze part if it and am working on that part this week.

We eat less now
I’m good for one Thanksgiving meal a year. Most of the time I eat a lot less than I would have as a young guy.

leftovers are the best.. to make a leftovers sandwich with a ton of mayo is the best of the fest ;O)
That’s how I like turkey and other meat sandwiches best!

Sounds like a good meal, Doug! Andy’s sleepy reaction is a typical after-Thanksgiving-meal occurrence!
Yes, thst’s exactly what happened to me after turkey at the Clasd of 1966 monthly meal!
