=(^+^)=
I mean to watch this annual speech. It doesn’t matter if I voted for the current president or not, I feel watching this speech is part of being an informed, good citizen.
That noted, I fell asleep early, perhaps within ten or so minutes at the start. I missed the other party’s response and most of the pundits’ analysis later.
Have I ever survived one of these speeches? I think I stayed awake for every one up to…? I don’t think I have ever seen one completely through.
It was almost 2 hours long. I’m guessing a lot of people fell asleep. I seem to remember Presidents’ speeches starting at 8p a while back.
Yes, I recall them starting earlier, too. I think the rationale was the largest (awake) audience would tune in that way. 1:47 isn’t a speech, it’s an ordeal!

Glad Andy is looking a lot better, and posing into the bargain. Bless him. X
It helps me.

10 minutes of that is enough for anyone
Amen! Even when it’s the guy you voted for, the speech us a litany of blah-blah-blah.
Doug
No one would blame you for falling asleep at any time, Doug, especially recovering from illness. Sleep is good. Best to you and Andy kitty.
I have learned…”to sleep like the tiger.” That is, when it happens, it happens.
Doug
Andy… as handsome as ever… thanks for coming to us every day!!! Best wishes to you and your nice Dad!!!
Thanks! Some days are harder to do than others.
Doug
Skipped the speech here, will catch up on what was said on social media. Ha, not surprised at Andy’s baffled reaction!
LOL! Yeah. My face would have looked like that if I hadn’t slept through virtually the whole thing

Given the current president’s habit of rambling and insulting anyone he sees as an opponent, I decided to skip the torture and attend an ikebana class, where I tried to make a decent arrangement out of supermarket chrysanthemums. The effort was ridiculous, but the teacher saved the evening and sent me home with a nice vase of flowers. And my blood pressure stayed down. Napping is also a great way to pass the evening! 😉
I got the gist of the speech from the next morning’s news!

I look for the Cliff notes version. They are too long for my attention span.
That’s a fact!
