Where’s the kitty?
Hint! Hint!
See the kitty now?
Andy saw this part of his birthday presents early because, of course, he helped put it together! I think he likes his new kitty tree. Just where it will end up is to be established, though this spot looks like a solid possibility.
The second part of his birthday gifts is a new scratching post.
(…from the Chewy advertisement)
Awe!!! Yay!! Does he like the cati one? We were going to get our guy one!
Yes, he really likes that one, and now uses it over the others. Among other things, it has a heavy base, so he actually can use it to hop on a nearby computer chair if he wishes.
P.S. The scratching post is cute too. It looks like Andy likes both.
He is very pleased with both. He took immediately to the scratching post, and uses it daily. I’m trying to get a photo or two of his using it, but have had problems anticipating when he’s about to use it.
I am sure you’ll catch him at it one day.
Wow – what a luxurious plushy kitty condo! You deserve it too, Andy.
I agree! He and the late Dougy never had one that hadn’t been used before by Louie the ginger cat. One of them, Andy preferred as a scratching post and it looks it! For that reason, I did have some concerns he might not want to use the new one.
Fortunately, he has taken to it – aren’t you pleased, Doug?
Yes, I almost didn’t buy either gift because of past failures to please.
I know exactly what you mean, although our failures have been with kitty beds, rather than towers and scratching posts.
Kitty beds haven’t been a success here either.
Favorite sleeping spot seems to be my head, so we kick them out of the bedroom at night and shot the door.
Andy prefers to sleep nearby or to use the window for night spying of bunnies and other cats.
You are so lucky to have bunnies outside. All we have is parrots who visit from the nearby Parrot Jungle during the day and raise impossible pandemonium.
Yes, cottontails are exceptionally cute adults and break-your-heart cute babies! And, they are quiet animals! We also have the possibility of cougars, not so comfortable. One was run over about a mile and a half from where I live and they are being spotted more often in this area.
Poor cougar! They are so beautiful and graceful.
Yes, though they are potentially dangerous.
Ha! At the age of 5, my grandfather lost me in a circus. I didn’t think I was lost, though; I simply walked down to the arena because I felt so sorry for the poor lions who were made to jump through fiery hoops and such by a mean lady with a whip. The arena was surrounded by a sturdy cage, of course, but that did not prevent me from talking to a lion and playing with the end of his tail which he had graciously extended through the bars. I consider no animal dangerous, Doug, and none ever attempted to hurt me, especially the great cats.
Rhesus monkeys and brown bears have bitten me. I have little fear of animals, either.
Where in the world did you meet those, Doug?
There used to be a small zoo at the local park. It was poorly run and I was a toddler who couldn’t read warning signs. (I was poorly supervised by older siblings!)
I am glad it ended only in a bite and a fright, with no more serious consequences.
My hand was too small for the bear to do much harm, but I have a tiny scar between two fingers on my right hand as a souvenir.
You got your shots and everything, though, right? I have never been bitten by an animal
I’ve had lots of tetanus shots through the years. I don’t recall for sure – 10 years? – how often one needs a booster because I never reached that point before I needed one for an injury or a bite.
Oh, there are boosters too? I’ve never got bitten so I don’t know.
Yes. I think they recommend getting one every ten years or after you have an injury or bite involving puncture wounds.
Yech! Get bitten once and then have to get shots for the rest of one’s life – that’s not fun!
They are very easy to take. I can’t remember any tetanus shot causing me discomfort either when injected or after. A mosquito bite feels worse!
Then you are lucky, I guess.
Just got cut off. This is frustrating. We are looking for a new laptop.
My current problem of no sound is just one more reason to put the laptop under the front wheel of my car and drive over it. LOL!
Let’s combine forces putting laptops under the car wheels.
Oops! No go – my grandson already called dibs on it, to cannibalize and construct an incredible gaming machine.
LOL! Saved by the bell! (Mine is in peril still.)
My 11-year old grandson is eagerly waiting to get his hands on this one…
This begins his lifetime of travail and sorrow… LOL!
I hope this begins his brilliant career!
WOWY, Andy! Mr. Doug got you a really big tree/condo! Just think, now you have more hidey holes from where to spy on flies and rainbow snakeys. We have a similar tree, but not as tall. Sisfur Esmay uses it mostly. She seems to think it’s hers. Chin nuzzels.
That’s the problem when you have to share. Andy always had fights with Dougy over who got to use this or that.
Awesome and Chewy is a great company.
I’ve been pleased with their quality and service!
Cool gifts! Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty
Andy is really pleased with them!
you do spoil Andy Doug! Your whole place is basically made up of Andy stuff! Love the cactus scratching post!
That is a very cool cat tree. We have something similar but smaller.
This particular one come without the two kitty bed towers on the top. The price difference was negligible so I went whole hog.
Andy is ready to celebrate, and he has already contributed valuable testing. Looks rugged and comfy.
It is really solid. Actually both are. Earlier cat trees aren’t as solidly built and cost much more.
There’s nothing quite like seeing a cat tree felled upon its first use, particularly when you’ve spent more than it is worth. Looking forward to photos of Andy in that fine new hangout.
I was a bit concerned the new one wouldn’t be good because I got it so cheaply, but it turned out to be very solid and capable of handling a 10 pound kitty boy!
Andy is one lucky boy.
I feel responsible for spoiling him to the best of my ability!
Happy Purrthday Andy ! We know you will remember your brofur while you enjoy your presents.
Maybe we should drink a memorial toast to his memory. We think about Dougy every day, many times when something triggers a memory of that wee rascal!
That looks like a super cat tree for Andy. the cactus looks a little scary though.
Scary-looking, it is like a stuffed toy on top and solid where the rope is coiled. Andy love, love, loves it, and immediately tried it out a little bit before I had all three cacti attached to the base! One never knows about a cat, eh?!
oh em cod dood, thiz iz AWESUM!!!!!!!! 🙂 ♥♥
Andy is r3eally pleased wit it, and I am really pleased I didn’t waste money on his gifts as he tried both out immediately.
Happy Birthday, Andy! What a cool kitty tree! Love the design of that scratching post!
Andy is really happy with both! I liked the scratching post design, too. It’s on a heavy base, unlike many of these cat scratching posts, so Andy can’t knock it over.
That is a fine scratching post and cat tree for Andy! He is one happy kitty! <3
He’s using both of them, which, as you know, is 99% of the battle with new cat toys and furniture!
Happy Birthday Andy! Such a wonderful cat tower!! ❤️
He especially likes the middle cat hotel. It’s just his size, and he can hide in it!
Thats so nice, I’m happy for him! Every kitty needs a hidey hole!
Yes, and this serves his purpose well!
Great Birthday present!
I was pleased with the solid construction on both he cat tree and scratcher. Both were on sale (40% off) at a price I couldn’t resist.
Oh!! Andy must love this!!
He took to both right away, GP. I tend to grit my teeth when I give him new toys since he doesn’t always respond to them. I scored 100% with these two gifts!
Quite the birthday haul! Happy birthday Andy.
Up to this point, he (and his late brother) just had to use cat trees and scratching posts inherited from the late Louie the ginger cat. I decided Andy earned something new. He IS a good kitty!
Always nice to have something spanking new and not a hand me down!
Exactly! QA lot of the toys and cat furniture were just that – Louie the ginger cat’s stuff. The cat loungers were new to the kitty boys, but Dougy claimed both of them. Andy had to scramble to get to use one or the other while Dougy was alive. Now he has stuff that is exclusively his, with no other kitty’s scent on them.
The best birthday present ever!
Andy love, love, loves them!
Just like ours 😸 They get rambunctious so I anchored it to the the wall, just in case 😉
The cat tree came with a strap and hardware to secure it to the wall. It is so heavy (the base was heavy enough I barely could pick it up….) I doubt 10 pound Andy can knock it over. I was impressed with both gifts for the substantial bases.
that is a super watch tower!! now you can watch tv from a higher purrs-pective!!! love the scratch post!!!
Andy is very pleased with both, and started using the scratching post before I finished assembling it!
