This has been the year many, many Indians have signed up for my posts. Though I am unfamiliar with most of the holidays of India, I am familiar (sort of!) with the Holi Festival of Colors because I’ve seen videos showing the activities. And what activities they are! Enjoy the video and read up on the holiday that is today, 18 March 2022!

Best wishes to my Indian friends on Holi Festival of Colo(u)rs!!
(It looks messy but fun!)

The 18th of March 2022 is a Muslim holiday as well. Lailat al-Bara’ah, begins today as well. I’m not familiar with the holiday, though I know it precedes Ramadan by two weeks. Best wishes for my Muslim friends as they prepare for the holy month of Ramadan!

Interesting festival 🙂
Yes, it would be fun, though I’d be concerned about inhaling the powder.
thanx for sharing this and the wikipedia link Doug; the festival looks like a lot of fun..I’d participate II 🙂
I would, too!
I alternate between thinking “that looks fun” and “that looks miserable” quite frequently.
I’d be concerned about inhaling that powder, but it looks like fun otherwise!
You teach me, Doug.
That’s a good trick since you were involved in education professionally!
I learned something new here! I had not been aware of Holi or Lailat al-Bara’ah. Thanks for the links and beautiful video of Holi.
I find other culture’s holidays interesting and try to keep up with them for this blog since people from all over the world come to our posts.
Thx for the inspiration… I just reblogged my pics from 2018.
I hope your life is colorful!!
It’s pretty dull compared with most people’s, but I’m ok with that!
I checked your photos out. Looks like you and your party had a thoroughly messy good time!
I was solo… minus the 1st pic, everyone was a stranger to me. I had a great time!!
Aw dangit… I wonder if I missed the local one. It was major fun!
I missed mine, too!
I found a small one near my home on Sun!
I’ve been lucky enough to be in India for two Holi festivals.
It looks like messy good fun!
