03Jul24: on the eve of the 4th…

Andy found some of the fireworks excessive and he stopped by for reassurances from me.

Much better now!

A little touch up….

Andy wants a bit of rest before the sun goes down, and the racket starts up again!

I’ll be around later if he needs a kitty hug. All said, Andy still handles the racket pretty well for a kitty.

  1. We had a few prelude fireworks go off here in the neighborhood recently, but we will see what happens tonight. Fire Danger is going up here with the temperatures, and maybe it will be quieter tonight.

    • I should hope people there paid attention to the fire risks!

Here, grass fires can be equally as destructive as forest fires, but landowners often plow fire breaks on their properties. And yes, Nebraska can have forest fires with lightning typically being the cause.

  2. Don’t know why these things come out of order. I see it did bother him a bit. I just hope they don’t go on too late for you two. You both need your beauty rest.

    • I am totally deaf in my right ear. Because dialysis patients are advised to you do certain things that might compromise the usability of their fistula, I sleep on my left side in deference to the fistula on my right arm. My left ear pressed into my pillow effectively cuts out the fireworks racket!

Andy manages to find a quiet place of his own.

When I worked, I always went to work the next day without sleep when the next day was a work day. I hate fireworks!

    • I’m happy Andy handles it well. So far, he’s only reacted strongly to one especially loud one. He’s the same with thunder…Mr. Kool!

  3. That noise should start up in a big way here tonight, I despise this because people light fireworks in my HOA and that’s completely illegal. Be strong, Andy!

  4. It’s good that Andy handles the fireworks noise fairly well! Ours always go hide. We’ve had no early noisemakers yet this year, which is unusual.
