I love opera but can’t carry a tune myself. I think the opera thing is my way of basking in some ethereal magnificence since I, too, croak out song if I attempt it.
They sang it to me at dialysis, but I plugged my ears while they sang. When I ask people not to sing it, I am not being shy or ungrateful, just tired of trying to act pleased while put on the spot!
