I started to do my post for today but couldn’t find my smartphone!
I looked in all the likely places inside the apartment, then thought it might have fallen out of my jacket pocket in my car. I’d taken it with me to dialysis. Not there!

I tried to think of other places inside that I’d been after I came home.
(NOTE: In situations of this nature, you always went places and did things you ordinarily rarely go or do. Always!)
Having exhausted all the likely places, I returned to the place I usually place it, a box with odds and ends of scissors, pens, paper, Scotch tape, a remote for the air conditioner, a remote for the radio, charging cords, AND my smartphone.
I dug through that mess a second and third time then noticed that my missing smartphone slipped over the side and was between the ottoman and the box.
Whew! It is a scary thought what I’d have to do if I didn’t find it. The first thought was how do I notify you and family that I’m OK when my blog and Facebook go unupdated till I could go to the phone store Monday? And how do I call anyone even then because everyone’s phone number is on my smartphone!? I think I will create a telephone directly, on paper. You know how, one more thing to misplace, but a good idea just in case I don’t lose it and need those numbers.
It’s funny how, every once in a while, we need the old tools. 🙂
Having a Single Point of Failure can be a dangerous thing.
Amen to that! The second problem for me is things need to go south big time, then I do the thing I should have done earlier to avoid a major crisis!

I have a telephone book (paper) but that’s a good reminder to update it!
Just as I mentioned to Kate, most people aren’t listed in telephone directories now be cause few people kept their land lines.

It’s good to have a paper copy of phone numbers. Our land line had a memory and then it somehow got erased. It was a mess to try to find all the numbers. I say that yet I haven’t updated my list (now on my cell) in ages. Hopefully it’s in a cloud somewhere.
The problem recreating a phone nu.ber reference is most people these days aren’t listed in published directories because land lines are increasingly rare in peoples’ homes.

I meant just the numbers that are in my cell phone.
Mine too, Kate. Even the list on Excel disappeared on the same day. Ha! Cheers.
Well, I’d been looking for mine for about an hour. Although not a smart phone. But I have a smart Carer, who found it for me. In plain view. Tsk!
Those plain view ones ate the ones I hate happening most! Mine was essentially in plain view, just presenting a,side view, note the expected face view.

At our age, things like that happen, Doug. It’s good that you eventually found it.
That definitely is true, T.W. The other thing is the dropsies. I always say don’t do once easily what you can do twice, only harder. LOL!

Cute pictures of Andy doing the unexpected! As mentioned, calling helps with finding if phone is charged. You’d need a neighbor close enough to step over to, or maybe take a short drive to.
My neighbors were at work, but that would have been the final thing I’d have tried once someone was available.

I too would be lost without mine…..my daughter comes to my rescue by calling my number….it helps. Have a good day chuq
That was one plan if it hadn’t popped up first!
