Andy wants to get closer……even as I offer my hand. However, I’ve done some trimming up and dealing with some bad mats. That makes him suspicious! He still wants to get closer……maybe!Eventually he hopped up on the ottoman. This is the “before” picture.
I brushed him. His hair is so thick that the missing chunks don’t show too badly.Of course, in this last photo, the ungroomed left hind legs ruins the look. (It will grow back, I tell myself! He wiggles a lot while I try to remove the big mats.)I guess I’m forgiven!

I’m betting Andy feels better without the matts, even if he doesn’t realize the trimming is what made him feel better. Such cute looks on his little face!
You did a great job! My parents had a long-haired cat. She was beautiful, but so much work
Once all the big mats are out, Andy will feel better about it.
He se3ns a bit relieved. He let me work on some tiny ones that I could pull apart easily.

I think Andy has a lot to cope with being the breed he is. Well done, Andy and Doug!
We work on it in intervals.

Sensible!
Good job, Doug, of keeping Andy groomed as much as possible. I wonder if there’s some method to make him appreciate it.
Yes, do it daily so not big mats appear, just tiny ones I can pull apart without causing Andy any discomfort….

Poor Andy! That’s a lot of hair. He used to have a groomer. Was he good for her?
Yes, all his groomers were excellent with kitties.

I can see in his expression saying, “What did you do?!!”
Yes, poor Andy has to endure a lot to be Persian.

He looks peaceful enough
He basically is good while he’s groomed, only reacting if he has pain.

I think you are right about that, Leah.
