21Aug25: Andy’s busy morning…

A few Greenies…
…a cartoon show…
…and Andy was off to the dining room.
It was neighbor Bret and my “danish & coffee” day.
An apple danish…
…topped with apple pie filling made an especially good combination!
Andy stopped by to visit Bret and me.
The sun caught his splendid tail just so!
Out of the direct sun…
…in the direct sun. Whew!
A little rest time on the blue carrier, then..
…snoop time on the dining room table. (He pretended to look out the window.)
Sniff! Sniff!
Staring at the paper towels…whatever they are to a kitty!
More confusion about those darn paper towels.

Andy left the room shortly after. It was a busy morning, then he headed to the front room on important kitty business.

20Aug25: priorities…

Andy was enjoying box time when…
…he heard…
…Greenies hitting the lapboard on the ottoman!
Andy looked forward to his little treat.
Yes, there they are.
Nom! Nom!
Nom!
Of course, a nap folliwed.

19Aug25: Andy works on the mats, too…

Andy has his method.
He isolates the mat.
Of course, he watches me, too…
…in case I want to get involved again.
He licks at it.
He digs deep with his teeth…
Then he pulls up on the mat, eating any hair he loosens.

(I try to remove as much of that loose hair as possible  before he breaks away from me.)
Of course, he continues to watch me in case I move toward him!

=(^+^)=

This is a dressmaker’s seam ripper. I loosened some of the mats with it for Andy. That makes it easier for him to remove more of mats using his lick-bite-and -pull-up technique.

=(^+^)=
Here’s a closer look at the working end of the seam ripper. Yes, that pointed end is something one has to be aware of when using it on Andy. The cutting edge is so sharp, however, that it goes through the mat without pulling on Andy’s hair so much it alarms him. I have blunt-end scissors in the cat grooming set that might be safer to use, but they don’t penetrate really thick mats without Andy becoming alarmed. They still work better and safer on smaller mats.

Today’s post is in black and white because of the impossibility of color correcting photos that were very dark in their original state.

18Aug25: stopping by for a chest and chin “scritch”…

When Andy needs a “scritch” he knows I’m good for it!
Purr! Purr!
“More?”
He gave it thought….
Purr!
Purr! Purr!
After a few “scritches” even Andy has had enough.
” Maybe you need a nice…”
“…head pat instead.”

=(^+^)=

Another satisfied customer!

17Aug25: Tea for two?

I set my tea down.
Andy hops up on the ottoman to see what’s in the mug.
Thinking about it….
Is this for kitties?
Before Andy gets too far into this inquiry, I remind him kitties don’t like tea! Or do they?
I move the mug and he takes a nap. A close call!

16Aug25: ‘nip…

I spot this prime leaf on my ‘nip plant.
Picking it for Andy…
…I show it to him, but he acts like he doesn’t trust me…
…so I place it on the lapboard on the ottoman. Will he come around?
Andy finally stops by.
He sniffs the ‘nip, but doesn’t stick around to enjoy it.

=(^+^)=

I usually give Andy ‘nip by the front door. I think his problem is classic cat: they hate deviation from what they consider to be  the norm!

Well, he stopped by, looked at me, then left without sampling the ‘nip.

15Aug25: sneaking up on Andy…

Lick!
Lick! Lick!
Lick!
Lick!
Andy hasn’t noticed me yet.
Oops, spotted!
Andy seems embarrassed.
Surely not.
Never mind. Time to nap.

14Aug25: lazy day…

Purr!
Andy and I had a lazy day.
While we both slept a lit, catching up on sleep…
…we woke up tired.
Ironic, eh?

13Aug25: quiet time…

When the sun goes down…
…Andy stops by.
Yeah!
Yeah!
Purr! Purr!
A little lovin’ for my kitty!
Happy boy!

=(^+^)=

…nap time now.

12Aug25: Andy is at it still…

Yep!
In between licks, Andy stares out toward the last position he licked from.
Lick!
Lick!
Staring.
Is he done?
