He did get an IV. His veterinarian noted his red blood cells are a bit improved, that liver function takes more time to sort itself out, but is coming along.
I reviewed issues I had with medications and Andy’s specific resistance to various methods of administering them.
I noted how two that he didn’t get much of because of how much wet food he typically eats, then leaves. I described how I mixed the two in water and gave them orally to Andy by syringe: his veterinarian approved.

Glad there is some improvement.
I’m fighting impatience. It will take what it takes!

Sending you and Andy all the Power of the Paw we all can muster here, Doug. Good luck! It can take time to devise a workable strategy.
…and what works today doesn’t necessarily work tomorrow. Cats have won over me more than the other way.
Thanks!
Doug
Sending y u and Andy purrayers and best wishes that the New Year will be good to and for both of you.
Thank you. As you know, the both of us really need it.

Morgan is on meds. One (which thankfully is done) was a cherry flavored antibiotic liquid. It was syringed into her mouth. It was sweet and sticky and some always got on her fur. In discussions with the vet, her next antibiotic is a chicken flavored pill. I’ve had success putting that in food but I had to do a little food with the pill before her meal to make sure she ate it. Cats are not like dogs. Wish I put it in cheese and have her scarf it up!
I totally appreciate that thought! Andy can be cooperative as far as catching him, but then the struggle to get medicine begins. The tiny pill U t h ought was the answer turned out to be unacceptable to Andy, who vomited it and the other medicine up. Today, I tried mixing the two original medications in really well with his chicken-flavored wet food. As of leaving for dialysis this morni g, he was hiding from me. I don’t know if I succeeded.

Today I tried hiding a pill in some Churu. She loved the Churu but ate around the pill. This was the vanilla flavored pill. I’ll try it with the chicken flavored pill. I may have to crush the vanilla one.
I am sure that you’ve already thought of ways to fit the pills into food he’ll like, and I don’t know if there is a cat version of a pill pocket that we use for our dog. Unlike dogs, cats are fussy about what they put in their mouth.
Gary! That’s a brutal fact!

Keep hanging in there, Doug
It’s wearing. I’ll work at finding the positive!

It’s good that Andy’s eating more Greenies and has had some improvement! Sounds like you have a good solution (in more ways than one) to the problem of getting all Andy’s meds into him!
Unfortunately, the new pill didn’t agree with him and he vomited it back up. Soooo…back to the green one I have to pierce with a knife.
