Winter decided to hang on just a little bit longer here in the center of the country. The photos are looking out my back door.
This is how it looked yesterday morning. By midday, most of the snow had melted.

Wow, I had to double check the date for this post as I could not believe that you had snow in May!
It isn’t typical weather, fortunately, but the traditional last killing frost is May 15th. I guess it was cooler here in May historically.
Holey Moley…is it Winter…. again… Thank you for coming to my Pawty. It made my birthday just a little bit more special <3 Extra Pawkisses for the weekend 😀 <3
Hey, the Big 12 is a special birthday to a kitty, and you are lookin’ great! I wouldn’t miss it for anything!
I subscribed to get emails.
I still get them, too, though I’ve tried using the reader more lately.
Well the email works, but having done some research, there are a few that I’m not getting, so i got the email on them. I prefer the reader though.
I’ve come to prefer the reader, too, though it seems like liking a blog on the reader doesn’t assure it shows up as liked on the blog. When you like something on the blog, however, it does register as liked on the reader.
Wow, even in Canada it’s stopped snowing!
P.S. I’m still not getting you in my reader! :-{
Weird, isn’t it?!
So strange. 🙂
I just posted an update showing two local park features that aren’t typically associated with snow: the landmark fountain in the park and the swimming pool.
any plant life left?? 🙁 no wonder you indoor garden.
Actually, there is! The grass looks great, for example. I don’t know how flowers did since I didn’t have any planted in my yard yet. I’ve seen them around town, blooming, so many survived.
Nature is really unbelievable! 🙂
For sure!
I had Easter with snow now and then in my life. But in MAY?
Not typical weather for this area either….
that’s unbelievable! Did you say Nebraska or Nebralaska? Wish you hotter days!
LOL! Could be Alaska!
I’m sure it’s not a big deal for you – in Portugal we have lots of sayings related to the weather – I can think of one for that – Snow in May, less IRS you’ll pay!
I wish! Ha! I can’t think of any snow sayings.
Doug, I believe you haven’t visited my other new blog. I invite you to drop by it’s at https://lostinbraga.wordpress.com/ 😀
I missed the fact you have a new one, and I’m checking it out as soon as I type this reply!
Wow! I’m following https://lostinbraga.wordpress.com/
now. It is fascinating, well-designed, and looks like it will be well worth keeping up with as you add to it!
Thanks – you’re very nice and you’ll be welcome!
I’m amazed you have time for sleep, considering how much time you spend on yoiur excellent Jazz blog and, now, this one!
It’s true I spend too much time doing this. Please don’t tell my family!;-)
I totally understand!
Oh wow… you must be fed up with this dragging winter!
If we didn’t have more normal weather in between the Arctyic blasts, it would seem that way, but we’ve had periods of atypical warm days this past season, too.
That stinks 🙁
It melted away so fast it barely registered as a snow storm!
what state do you endure his strange meterologie in ? 🙂
The Panhandle of Nebraska.
I remember a freak May snow storm back in Connecticut, long ago. Did a lot of damage as there were leaves on the trees, and the snow was heavy and wet.
That’s the worst problem with this sort of storm. It really weighs down trees and bushes that have leaved out, causing lots of broken branches, power outages, and property damage.
Ah, nothing like the erratic weather of Nebraska in May.
And how! (I bet you don’t miss it!)
The hell the with the wheather it’s me ten feet under sucking dust
The first day of swimming here is Memorial Day (this weekend). I suspect the first day will be rescheduled at this point as rain and cool weather are predicted for the coming week. On the other hand, the city turned on the signature fountain in the city park. Hope the water doesn’t freeze….!

Oh Good Lord tell that white stuff to go away. It is almost summer for crying out loud.
50 degrees here at 6 am with a pollen count of 7.4
Damp and foggy and all of the tourists who rented the camping sites at the ocean for the three day week end are praying for sunny weather, and the weather man says grab those blue tarps because it is going t pour all week end.
I haven’t bought Memorial Day plants yet, and the snow makes me leery about paying good money for something that might get frozen out!
This month the weather is really fierce! But I hope for a beautiful summer… 😉
Summers here can be brutally hot, so I hot we have a coolish one for a change!
Hooley-dooley! Dougy must have been so darn happy. 🙂
Yes, he was as excited as can be!
oh my goodness!!!
Weird weather. It’s already melted, though, so it’s almost like it didn’t happen!
