I’ve had to turn my laptop over to a computer repair place to remove a virus that I picked up on Facebook.
I won’t post again till I have my laptop back. Working on my smartphone is tedious and fraught with quirks that put me in a very unhappy place.
It’s not worth it! I already messed up what would have been tomorrow’s post trying to add this note
onto it. Death to malicious virus makers!
Well, I wouldn’t suggest that but I’d be for long jail sentences … And I have some suggestions for writers of mystery fiction as to victim identities … Just have to re-read a mystery book called Fickle first, make some extra time.
Of course, though my frustration level takes me to places I’d never actually go.
The Internet is full of fleas, ticks and chiggers. Sorry to hear one bit you, Doug.
Thanks! Some sleazeball cost me a bit more than $120 to get the virus removed after I failed. I’d cause that person serious harm if I could find him…and I am a mild-mannered person who’ss never harmed another person!
Good old FB, eh?
Gad! I broke the one rule I never break that something like this happens: click on links posted by people I don’t know! I usually managed to remove viruses in past, but this time I had to turn it over to a pro. That cost me a bit over $120. Deth by the most painful means possible top axxholes who make viruses and post them. Seriously, I’d cause the person responsible for this one very painful retribution!
I can’t blame you!
Oh dear Doug, hope it wouldn’t be so long. Good Luck dear! Love, nia
No, it’s “home” as of the 11th of April.
Oh No, I hope it’s repaired quickly.
They did it in no time at all!
Good luck, Doug. I wouldn’t even try to use my phone
The phone is cumbersome for posting let alone creation of post. It is better than no posts, but I had to relearn some quirks of the medium to keep posts coming. As of the 11thm, I’m back on my laptop, though the pots through the 14th were initially done on the phone. I’ll review them for things I might prefer done on he laptop, then finalize them as needed.
Many people I know have had problems with FB….I have been fortunate for I do not use the platform ever….good luck with the death of the virus….see you when all is well chuq
I violated my one cardinal rule on FB: Never open any link posted by someone you don’t know. My curiosity cost me time lost on the laptop and a bit more than $120 when I couldn’t remove the virus on my own and, for the first time, had to use professional services.
It is a good rule to stick by….glad it was repairable….chuq
It’s easy to forget, as my $120 virus removal bill should help me to remember.
Sorry about your computer’s illness, Doug. Speedy recovery to it!
I got pretty decent service. I’d never used this in town one before, but an old friend recommended them. I was satisfied!
Happy to hear that, Doug.
Me, too! That was an expensive virus.
I am sure. Most of them are, unfortunately.
Yes!
I recommend Advanced SystemCare to anyone using a pc. It not only catches viruses but a whole bunch of other issues too. There’s a free version.
I’ll look into it.
Oh darn, what a frustration. Hope your computer is back soon.
I got it back on Thursday he 1th.
Death indeed to these virus makers, they are evil and I am not kidding, Doug. I’m sorry that this has happened to you. 😡 May I suggest deleting your FB account, that website is a mess in so many ways. A MacBook and the IOS operating systems are far less prone to getting viruses. See you soon, Doug.
FB is getting to be rattier, for sure. Unfortunately for me, several people not on WP are following me on FB, so I feel obligated to continue there for these people. Yes, If I were running a mint, I would switch to Mac.
Maybe you can let them know that you are leaving FB. Let them make a blog to follow you.
I’ll work it out. There’s resistance to that.
I’ve never had a FB account, heard so many bad things about it.
It isn’t the worst, but it has some tediously bad features.
I don’t know if FB still owns Instagram which I use daily…
Yes, Instagram is owned by FB….
Oh joy!
So sorry you’re dealing with computer virus. Hope to see you back soon.
I get overwhelmed by computer issues. Fortunately, I have a guy but he’s not always available quickly. Good luck.
I am reasonably competent to fix issues, but this one was worse than every other one I’ve experienced. I had to turn it over to the pros!
I’m so sorry, Doug. I truly detest online trouble-makers.
Me, too. Death to them!
