31May24: Good grief!

Andy can’t believe there are no treats waiting for him.

He ponders this.

He gives me the look.

When I try to let him know they’re coming, he petulant places his paw on my hand.

I think I will have to do this on my phone. Sorry, but I possibly will not be able to answer comments if I can even read them on this gizmo.

30May24: Flying Joy…

Andy wants me to open the door so he can enjoy the morning birds.

Door open and the walker positioned for optimum bird watching!

Andy wastes no time!

Kitty “television” at its best!!!

=(^+^)=

Oddly, the walker model name that’s embroidered in large letters on the backrest is “Flying Joy“. In this instance, as a kitty boy viewing post, the walker name speaks to what birds are to Andy! Andy happily will watch birds from this post for as long as birds come around. With luck, he might even see an occasional squirrel, but the cottontail rabbits are out only at night.

=(^+^)=

The heritage yellow climbing rose bush will be in full bloom shortly. I look forward to this joyous event each year!

29May24: Andy is in no mood for loving…

A tempting target for kitty loving!

Unfortunately, Andy isn’t in the mood.

28May24: Andy’s vote choice…

Andy pays attention to the news.

There’s one of them now.

Andy knows his vote…

…is for more Greenies!

27May24: Something new?

Same old, same old, a shot of Andy scarfing up his Greenies.

But…see the elongated white hairs? I think Andy’s growing handsome white ear tufts! If so, this must be how smoke Persians show age, kind of like silver backs in gorillas and men greying on the sides of their heads before going full grey!

Yes, I almost can see the white ear tuft beginning in this older photo of my kitty boy. Differences in how his pelage takes on light hides any color variation. There’s a hint of white in his chest “feathers“, too, and his tummy “floof” always had a soft grey to it.

=(^+^)=

I spent several minutes upsetting Andy the other day. Holding him securely on his back, I pulled and combed apart several mats under his front arms. I took the opportunity to brush him bottom – tummy – to top. He was calm during side brushing, but took exception to me brushing too close to his  “precious” – (…butt). Come on, now! On a Persian kitty, one of the hardest parts to see is back there!  Anyway, brushing him…

This is a historic “floof” puff removed from Andy’s earlier armpit mats. A similar amount came off Andy today.

…I managed to remove lots of loose kitty “floof”, the stuff of future mats. You shall thank me later, wee cat, so being upset can be worth it for you! Each new brushing will be less upsetting because your hair will be less tangled.

^+^=  <- white ear tuft?

26May24: It was the ‘nip!

Those white spots on Andy’s whiskers are ‘nip.

He managed to make it to the end table next to the kitty lounger. I knocked the ‘nip off his whiskers since he’s too zonked to do it himself!

 He conked out almost instantly.

25May24: Andy “RAWR’s” the peacock feather….

Andy sees his “prey“!

I let him sniff it.

He licks it…

…then he uses that as an opportunity to “RAWR” it.

Between “kills“, he needs to clean the “blood” off his “murder mittens“!

This feather will be “killed” numerous times before Andy tires of this game!

24May24: Andy’s priorities aren’t mine some days.

Andy hopped onto the ottoman, which prompted me to offer him some kitty massage.

He resisted.

I tried to overcome his resistance.

It finally registered with me: Duh! He stopped by for Greenies!

What the heck! He can have his Greenies, and  I can pet him anyway.

That was too much of the good life for my kitty boy, I guess because he hopped off the ottoman onto his kitty lounger.

It’s his “get away from Doug” spot.

Finally! Sleep!

=(^+^)=

It takes my computer too long to boot and open up Microsoft Edge. I liked Explorer better and never had balky business on it like I have with Edge. I call it “On Edge” because I fight the urge to put my laptop under my car’s tire and run over it till it is reduced to atoms, which would bout equal how long it takes me to have access to what I turned it on for in the first place. Today, it took three boots and 33 or so minutes for it to let me use it! I dread turning my laptop on because I know my patience – and notorious temper! – will be tried.

23May24: Nom! Nom!

Andy loves his Greenies!

He lets me know this is his kitty lounger before he enjoys a bit of quiet.

=(^+^)=

I hope everyone can view these wee videos! You may have to click on the triangle more than once to get it to play.

=(^+^)=

Not much going on here today. I should have gone for groceries but decided I didn’t feel like bringing more food in when I have frozen and canned things on hand that I haven’t used yet. There’s frozen meatloaf that would work in pasta, by itself, or in a sandwich. I know there are other things – frozen cooked chicken breasts – that add to the meal possibilities if I just defrost and repurpose them!

I find making meals for one a bit tedious since I inevitably have too much for one meal, enough for two, but just too much for a third day in a row!

22May24: Andy shifts gears…

How do cats…

…sleep with their heads upside down?

Oops! I woke the beast!

~ …yawn! ~

Now André wants treats! (I just realized “André” is the French version of “Andrew“.)

=(^+^)=

There was a fine mist this morning. I enjoy this kind of rain. It clears the air of pollen and refreshes all growing things.
