Andy gets great pleasure from this sad piece of ribbon. I keep thinking I should buy some more. It’s inexpensive and, because it needs “adult supervision,” it means he needs me to play with it. Quality time!
(Because of safety issues, note that I never let Andy go unsupervised when we play with string or ribbon.)

This label was sticking to my laptop when I picked it up yesterday. I’ve been my name spelled “Dough” many times, but this is a new one for “Doug”: “Dud.”
My first childhood cat, Misha, used to eat long pieces of string. He would put one end in his mouth and chew until the piece got smaller and smaller and finally vanished. And we found it hilarious. Things were different back in the 80s …
I would probably be stuck with a big vet bill. I agree, though, it would be amusing back then!
My cats love ribbon but they don’t swallow it. They do tend to lose it, though.
Good kitties!
Sigh. You are no dud but as Ellen said, a good cat dad, Doug. I have seen more than a few misspellings of my own four syllable name. 🙂
I can believe that, Lavinia! “Doug” on the other hand is only four letters long and is a bit more common a name. The journalism rule of thumb is “Everyone likes to see his/her name in print, but no one likes to see it misspelled.” It applies in all life situations!
You are a good dad, not dud. 🙂 Andy is lucky you keep him safe.
It’s part of the contract!
It’s so good that you keep a sharp eye on Andy while he plays with the ribbon, Dud! He could be injured, he’s so innocent! 😊
Common sense…
People in this country lost common sense decades ago.
Sadly true!
I guess it’s best to keep an eye on Andy and the ribbon. You’re clearly not a dud. I don’t know about dough. 😆
It’s something you learn to do. Different cats react differently to potential hazards. I know Andy will chew things he shouldn’t, with the potential to swallow something that could harm him.
Andy does seem fascinated by the ribbon! What a cutie he is! That’s just weird about your name. Were they trying for a “g” and put it upside down(?) Or trying to spell “dude”(?)
It’s beyond me!
