21Feb25: RIP Wynken…

Lavinia Ross says this 2022 photo of Wynken shows her eyeing Rick’s pancakes. It was the kind of kitty she was.

The stripes on the three sisters’ heads faded away as they aged. Tio Pepe and the mother, a feral grey tabby, went to another family. Their father was a white stray the Rosses saw around their property.

Lavinia Ross of Samon Brook Farms emailed me to let me – and you through me – know that Wynken was unable to survive extensive efforts to save her from a nasal cancer. She will have memorial daffodils planted above her resting place in Lavinia’s practice of planting memorial flowers in her yard to friends, family, and pets.

I know Lavinia was a good kitty mom, caring for Wynken over a long and trying period. That Wynken ultimately was worn out from cancer and treatments, was put to rest, doesn’t make her passing any easier. Hugs and condolences to our friends Lavinia and Rick on the loss of this beautiful kitty. Her kitty sisters miss her, too, after a lifetime together.

21Feb25: Nom! Nom! Nom!

Andy went through a spell where he didn’t want his Greenies. That period is over! I think his medication affected his appetite for the treat, and the change in frequency of one may be the reason for his returned appetite.
