31Mar25:  many faces of Andy…

“Eye” spy.
A wee…
…ruffled…
…perching…
Andy, just about to…
…seek a Greenies treat!
What!?
Andy is really excited now because Doug brought out the source of the Greenies and put out a few more!

30Mar25: …a very long week.

Andy just wants a little “me time” to take a catnap.

29Mar25: Class of ’66 get together…

Gordy Wilkins was taking photos…
…and so was Doug Thomas.
Dan Miller came early. Donna Shores hosted our get together.
Terry Christensen (from far left),Paul Stavropoulos (back to camera), Gordy Wilkins, and John Miller.
Tootsie (between Donna’s legs, to far left), Bev Preble, and Terry Christensen.
Apple pie. (It was pulled pork sandwiches, beans, cinnamon rolls, stuffed celery,  broccoli salad, and…)
Tootsie was hopeful something would fall down.
Paul Stavropoulos. Gordy Wilkins, and John Miller
Gordy wanted photos of all of us.
Hey, I’m a big Tootsie fan! Soooo cute!

Dan Miller.
Tootsie was a bit sad. No one was a really sloppy eater today. I guess.
Donna Shores is a fun host!
Terry Christensen helps set these up. Bev Preble helps, too.

Come on, now! I can’t imagine a cuter doggo!

The Miller brothers and Donna Shores’ brother Bill.
Tootsie, all worn out!

=(^+^)=

Thanks for indulging me this look at what I did after Andy’s veterinarian appointment yesterday. Tootsie the doggo is a delightful pooch, and her multiple appearances today in my blog is no accident!

Andy was happy to get home to a bit of Royal Canin Persin kitty food and a bit of Hill’s Science Diet KD wet food. His veterinarian didn’t call, so I expect a printed out explanation of his current condition in the mail, like the one I got last time.

28Mar25: today Andy had an appointment.

We had to wait till an examination room was available.
Andy needed some uplifting at that point.
So did I.
When we got the room and Andy got put out on the examination table, there was another short wait. I rubbed his ears and head to help his mood.
Kind of happy Andy….
The technician came in, and we both gave Andy some loving.
After weighing Andy – he’d added 0.4 pounds,up from 9.1 pounds last visit, which pleased Dr. Olejnik and me because he had been getting thinner and thinner.
After being away for blood to be taken, Andy had another wait since Dr. Olejnik was with a cow inneed.
The wait was too much for Andy. He kept eyeing his carrier and trying to get off the examination table. I knew he wanted to secure himself inside the carrier by this point, which he did all by himself when I put it on the examination table!
Pay the lady! Now, since his doctor is still with the cow, I am waiting for a call about the bloodwork and blood pressure.

=(^+^)=

I got a new, tight door yesterday.

My new door latch latches tight!

=(^+^)=

Of course, so many flies got in during installationofthenewdoor – it’s the season – that I spent over forty minutes killing those that I couldn’t get to go to the door, where I let them out. I remembered, too, that I had fly paper, one sheet of which I hung near the kitchen sunk window. Two are stuck to it now.

You can nearly see them on the lower right corner.
There! Maybe it was three captures…

27Mar25: Andy, kitty of mystery!

He’s there somewhere…
He’s unaware I’m trying to tell bis story.
Peek!
About to emerge?
Ummm.
Kind of revealing.
Dang! He stayed pretty much in that one place, then hopped off to fast to photograph!
Then he returned, but the television captured his sttention.
Whew! Here he is in all his glory…finally! He’s having a great hair day, and I wanted to capture that.

26Mar25: just enough…

Andy was enjoying a catnip…
…when I decided he needed my attention.
Andy was OK with it initially.
Then he wasn’t OK with it,so he started to leave.
I still wasn’t done with my little sweetie!
Andy,on the other hand was done with my attention. I knew this because his tail was starting to twitch, his ears were beginning to pin back, and he put his paw on my fingers to tell me so!

=(^+^)=

My front storm door is falling apart, thanks to strong seasonal winds blowing it open and into the side of the building. I have a saying, reserved for maintenance people I need to call on to fix or straighten out things is, “If you want a crap fix, leave to me.”

In the photo above is my “crap fix” to end that annoying bang-bang-bang all day and night till the new door is installed. I screwed a nail onto the door frame and loop twine around it. Then I tie the ends around the door handle so that the door latch is pulled in snugly against the striker plate. Voila! A perfect “Doug’s Crap Fix!”

Yeah! Yeah! Now you have to tie and untie it any time you or someone needs to enter or exit the apartment! I know! That complication is precisely how you know this is my “crap fix.” It also is why I don’t have to train maintenance people to deal with my needs more than one time.

25Mar25: trust…

Ever since…
…all of Andy’s…
…veterinarian appointments…
…he tends not to trust me as much.
It all started here, by the door. As soon as I showed up to try to get photos for today’s post, he shot out for my bedroom, one place he knows he can go, and I can’t physically catch him.

I regard this as a sad development, one I’ll mention to his veterinarian this Friday morning when we go, again, for a follow-up visit.

=(^+^)=

Andy did stop by a bit later when I wasn’t trying to photograph him. Not easy figuring g his moods out some days.
Well, back to where this drama started.

24Mar25: Andy resists brushing…

I showed Andy the brush.
Andy has his druthers…
…and hops into the security of his favorite box.
Safe at last?
It works well to get out that pesky loose undercoat.
Andy knows what he must do!
Skedaddle.
This much was just one mat under Andy’s left arm! It took the brush and manual manipulation to pull most of it apart to get it all.

I think I’ve got most, if not totally all of his mats taken care of now.

23Mar25: a change of direction…

Andy stopped by.
I thought for Greenies.
He thought so, too.
He thought and thought.
Hmmm.
Really…
…a nap felt better!

22Mar25: basic kitty happy-making…

Start with your basic kitty. Andy is a pedigree kitty, but he still has the basic kitty configuration: He’ll do for this lesson!
The ear rub! The ear rub!
Chin “scritches” bring on the purrs.
The basic head through tail stroke.
Can’t go wrong massaging those kitty muscles! Purr! Purr!
When all else fail, shower your kitty with treats.

=(^+^)=

Today is my 77th birthday.

I know! I know! Happy Birthday!

Just don’t sing that dang song to me. Thank you very much!

=(^+^)=

This is me if you sing thatdang song!
