31May25: monthly luncheon…

Andy was happy to see me go….
Terry helps Ted.
Donna, our perfect host!
If I ake candid photos of everyone, the least I can do is post a selfie of me, too! (I forgot my glasses at home.)
My favorite doggy!
Tootsie!
Jeryl and Ted are two classmates we see too infrequently, so it was a joy both were able to be here this time!
Susan and…
…David look the most like they did as kids.
Tootsie enjoys our attention!
Bev and Terry help set luncheons up. Bev brought a rhubarb crunch dessert. I had two helpings of that, too! It was light on the sugar, making a tart treat, just the way I most enjoy rhubarb.
Paul is a great host when he and Bev have the luncheon at their home!
Nancy’s specialty is cherry pie! Yum!
Upper left…cheery pie! (I had two pieces….)
I think Tootsie missed Dan and John, who usually sit there and play with her.
Gad, she’s soooo cute!
That’s pretty much the luncheon news.
Andy can’t believe I used a previously used photo of him to head this post and a photo like this one to end it.
“Lots of the doggy, though.”

I tried to get a nice shot of you on the ottoman, but you ran off before I could take it, Andrew.

“Our contract is for a minimum of 99.9% Andy content, Doug….”

30May25: a late start today…

Andy came around.
He wasn’t in the mood for photos.
…he left shortly after.
When he came back…
…he finally was in a photo mood, with other kitty pleasures in mind!
Yeah, nothing like a good (we hope) sort of biographical “biography” about Hank Williams. (We told Andy, “…well…Hollywood?!”,)

29May25: Must be roll and coffee day!

Andy anticipates a visit, so he cleans up.
“Where is he?”
There’s Bret!
Strawberry rolls and coffee…
…and Andy mugs for coffee. The banana was a nice touch here, too.
Andy stopped by to visit Bret…
…then stopped by the blue carrier to figure out what to do next.
What? He walked right past Bret and stopped by Doug’s closed bedroom door. He wanted to go in there to watch birdies out of the bedroom window.

=(^+^)=

I hadn’t made my bed, so closing the door was a simpler solution to a mess!

=(^+^)=

We’ve had a week of rain, leaving everything fresh and green. I’ve always liked this time of year for the rain and cool weather.

The birds enjoy the pools of water that form on the lane. Andy enjoys the birds that enjoy the pools of water, as you can imagine.

=(^+^)=

On a day with light rain, it’s fun to take a short drive east of town to the Nebraska Sandhills, a major cattle raising part of the state. In historic times, millions of bison thrived on this grassland.
Lakeside, Nebraska, was named that because it’s located next to a lake, this lake. LOL!
One of hundreds of lakes and ponds in the Nebraska Sandhills, this lake is breeding grounds for shore birds, puddle ducks, and assorted birds associated with this type of habitat.
Any time you see trees in the Sandhills, someone probably planted it or a bird or animal deposited a seed in poop.
Back home again. This where I worked for nearly 36 years, Parker Hannifin.

=(^+^)=

Ignore everything from here down! Jetpack won’t let me delete this crap.

28May25: Leave the kitty alone!

Andy’s minding his own business.
Relax Nation!
Zzzz.
Uh oh! The human’s messing with the kitty.
!!!
Believe it: Andy’s on the verge of a “rawr!”

27May25: backlit…

Andy was in total blackness.
I didn’t have…
…photos for today’s post.
Make do, I…
…told myself.
So, I edited the heck out of these photos to get something, if not much.

26May26: Andy the kitty boy…

Sleepy boy!
Pretty boy!

25May25: suspicion is strong in this one…

Andy stopped by.
I started to reach toward him, but he tensed up.
You gonna flee, Andrew?
The tail suggests that might be a plan.
This usually works. Boop!
Aw, yeah!
He still looks like he doesn’t fully trust me, with good cause. The last time he stopped by, I caught him and gave him his medicine!
“Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer?” Shame, Andy! I’m here to tend to your every need and whim! Really.
Ouch! He spiked me! I guess trust will be elusive today.
Maybe not. He’s back!

24May25: Andy wants some…

I fed Andy esrlier.
Never mind.
“Food is good” is the house motto. Andy thinks I should share my breakfast with him.
Andy really, really, really thinks that I should share!
I let him sniff it, but he doesn’t want it then as much. Well, maybe he needs a second sniff. It may be kitty food!
Too late. Breakfast was soft scrambled eggs with onion and chunky salsa, peanut butter multigrain toast with sour cherry jam, and pineapple rings in pineapple juice, and Tetley Irish Breakfast tea served in an Andy mug. I considered having a Noosa yogurt. Too much food, though.
Andy hasn’t given up.
Oops! That’s a bit too close, Andrew!

23May25: hands on my kitty…

Andy stopped by for his treats.
And a little television blocking.
So, I used the opportunity to have a little hands-on kitty lovin’!
Yeah, massage that arm! Andy love, love, loves that except when he hate, hate, hates it, his choice.
So soft and inviting!
Andy wants it to stop.
Ok, Andrew! If you can’t wait to eat your treats, I’ll treat myself to a final pass over that fabulous tail you carry around. Ew! So soft and “floofy!”
Yeah! Yeah! I know you prefer I not touch “The Tail” when your priority is the treats.
Geez! So soft and desirable! Poor Andy can’t escape the lovin’ even after he hopped over to the end table to get a little snooze!

22May25: Andy gets his medicine…finally.

Andy spent a few hours in the south bedroom. He was avoiding me because it was medicine time.
I hid the medicine in plain view…behind the television remote so it was handy.
I have to be stealthy with Andy when it comes to his medicine.
Once I caught him when he walked past the ottoman, he struggled a bit out of the towel.
But I got his little leg trapped at last.
It’s impossible to handle giving Andy medicine at the same time taking a photo, so this is traumatized Andy shortly after he got his medicine. All that was left to do was loosen the towel so he could scamper out of sight. This not his favorite time of day!
