This hesitancy and daily changes in what Andy will or won’t eat is what leaves me stressed and uncertain if Andy has made progress or not. I’m trying to see it as slow progress, so don’t freak out. Yet….

Maybe he’s just full, Doug. We’ll see.
I don’t think so. He’s painfully thin.
Doug
Oh. Eat, Andy!
I know that roller coaster well, it is stressful. I hope he decided to eat more.
It doesn’t seem so.
Doug
I’m rooting for you both.
Thank you.
Doug
MY pleasure Doug.
They do get picky when they are ill, and food preferences can change daily. That sounds like a good sign he is eating real food that will have some actual nutrition instead of just treats. He may still be possibly associating wet food with all the medicines that were put in it. Hopefully he is drinking sufficient water on his own?
He seems to do ok on hydration, but he is painfully thin.
Doug
That is good news. It does take a while for his type of condition to turn around.
You may be able to get a clue from his eyes. (If you can see them with all that floof.) See if they are clear and alert/bright.
To me, the seem clear and bright. He is so thin, though, and eats too little.
Doug
It may take awhile to get his appetite back.
It’s hard not to stress out. They can’t tell you what they like or how they feel so we hang around trying to guess. Sending hugs.
Thanks, Kate. I’m having serious concerns about Andy’s future. If it’s his time to die, I have to accept it.

Ohhh yes so stressful when our little ones are not eating as we know they should… I read what Leah suggested about the fish-based foods. My own experience with that is not so much with trying to get not-100% well kitties to eat, but to try and entice stray ~ feral kitties into the humane traps… they are so trap-savvy that nothing seemed to work (in my old days of rescuing; which feels like that ‘mid last century’ term now!!).. but yes, the only food item that would entice the kitties… fish-based.. especially sardines… but as Leah wrote too, not sure how it compares to what Andy should be having right now.. but it might stimulate his appetite… Doug, we are all with you.. hoping and praying for the best…
Thank you. He is painfully thin and I don’t see any hope for recovery.
Doug
Yes – so stressful
It hurts to seem him si thin and not find any way to help.
Doug
Eating high quality food like Royal Canon sounds good, hopefully Andy will branch out again and eat Greenies and other kinds. We have found at times when cats are being picky, that they’ll always eat fish-based foods. Can’t recall right now how fish compares to other meats as a protein source for cats, but it gets them eating.
I don’t see that he’s eaten enough of anything. He is painfully thin.
Doug
Ugh, it’s so stressful when the little sods don’t eat! Catorze has been on and off his food lately, yet still manages to find the time to be annoying which leads me to believe that he’s ok. 🤣🤣🤣 Has Andy’s demeanour changed in any other way?
Andy does less of everything he usually does and spends more time in one bathroom. That’s part od my concern besides the eating issue.
