Andy’s made good use of his time home. He’s resumed perching on the end table, of course.Best place to make Doug take broody, dark photos, eh!?
=(^+^)=
Andy still is very thin, but the big difference now versus before is he’s eating all of his foods and treats like there’s no tomorrow. I am relieved!
=(^+^)=
(Andy’s tongue is starting to come out in this photo. He was cleaning up after eating more kitty food.)(Relaxing.)
Another thanks to all of you who stayed with Andy and me during our recent illnesses. I intend to get back to responding to comments instead of spending most of my day in bed. If Andy is thin still, I am physically weak. Little by little, recovery is underway.

Andy ignored his Greenies when he first came home today. When he came back, would he eat some Greenies?I was tense. He ate some Greenies! Then he stopped to spend time with me. Thank you, Andy. I missed your companionship.
=(^+^)=
Andy’s appetite is back and he’s eating dry and wet food without prompting!

Andy’s home again!I picked him up mid-morning. He’s slowly adjusting to home.Though I put food out, the Greenies are still waiting for him to taste them.
=(^+^)=
I’m anxious to see how he’s eating. He does feel like he’s filling out again, but I’m letting him come back into the home on his own schedule.
I thought he looked better than the last time he was home.
Here’s the last photo I took of him before returning him to the clinic.

I called the animal clinic a few minutes ago. Andy was a patient the first two days, but since has been a boarding kitty.
What that means for me is my bill will be very small compared with the first time. And Andy is getting a little vacation where he’s getting spoiled rotten by clinic staff. He IS a charming little rascal!I do miss him. A lot. We have our little rituals that can be tedious to do when I’m just back from the hospital, yet are normal and expected by Andy. Then, there are the little rituals I put Andy through that I know sometimes irritate him. Ha! Ha! In ways, we are like an old married couple.I am still recovering from COVID-25, so have decided it’s better I not get out and about, mask and all, spreading disease among the population. I’m not totally sure how efficacious the mask and hand cleanser are.
As for how I am, the COVID-25 has been mild. I cough a lot, have some shortness of breath sometimes, but it hasn’t caused sleep issues or my ability to smell food or enjoy a meal.

I got a surprise… …by phone yesterday morning. Instead of paying $800 for the prescription, the Safeway pharmacist was able to get it for me for $000.00, yes zero from the manufacturer since I am low income and retired.
=(^+^))=
I learned from the animal clinic yesterday afternoon that Andy’s been eating and getting a couple of medications that are applied in his ears.
I am encouraged, but don’t want him home till he eats on his own, without aids.
Having COVID-25 at the moment, that needs to clear up, too, before I pick him up.
I’ll call again tomorrow for the next progress report.

I haven’t heard how Andy’s doing, and I learned today I have COVID-25. What a start to the year.
=(^+^)=
I am appreciative of all the comments and support, yet am feeling short of strength. I may suspend answers to comments for the moment
This COVID-25 isn’t as brutal – or hasn’t been – as the pandemic version, yet it has left me very tired and weak. Mainly, I want to sleep.

I felt Andy’s best care wasn’t at home.Though I love the little guy……I’m no veterinarian technician.
=(^+^)=
I called the animal clinic yesterday morning and explained how Andy wasn’t eating, that responded best to food when I gave him that liquid meant to encourage an appetite.
“Is it something that could be given long-term?”
That began a conversation with the tech I was talking with and Andy’s doctor.
The end result will be better for Andy. He was taken to the clinic and left. I will get phone calls to keep me up to date on his progress, and I will pass it one to you.
I had a ton of stress and worry fall off my shoulders.

Andy came running when he heard I’d put ice in a cup.He licked it once, then stopped. The Greenies are from yesterday, untouched.
=(^+^)=
His front is wet, so he’s drinking water. I can’t see where he’s eating anything.
If that fluid he initially had two days is something he can have long term, I am calling his veterinarian to find out. It was after I got a good amount of it in him on the last try that the following day he came to the ottoman 11 times to eat Greenies.
I’m ready to try anything.
I’m not ready to give up on my little guy.

It’s early morning and……Andy isn’t eating the Greenies. So far, he ate Royal Canin Persian dry food. Wet Science Diet Chicken? Nope.He came back. I hope he gives Greenis q second look. Not……so far.
=(^+^)=
This hesitancy and daily changes in what Andy will or won’t eat is what leaves me stressed and uncertain if Andy has made progress or not. I’m trying to see it as slow progress, so don’t freak out. Yet….

I caught Andy in the middle of biting down on a Greenie. He caught me catching him. But, it was back to the treats!Nom! Nom!Time for a little rest. Perhaps a nap.
=(^+^)=
Poor Andy. His ruff is in miserable shape.
That one medicine that I dosed him with the large syringe mostly went down his front.
After blotting and washing as much of it off as I could, I tried combing the wet ruff so it would dry looking cool.
Unfortunately, it was very viscous liquid, so a lot of Andy’s ruff stuck together and came out in the brush.
The main thing is Andy’s looking like an eater today. If I was uncertain about how things were going yesterday. I’m more optimistic today.
I changed how I feed Andy the Royal Canin Persian dry food.
As you cat folks know, cats sometimes have issues with food bowl where their whiskers come in contact with the sides of the bowl.
This is irritating to the cat, so I started feeding this Persian- kitty-friendly food in a saucer. Andy surely will eat more and waste less of this food now. I should be better able to track how much of it he eats, too.
