Still having problems with uploading photos, so this is another retro post of old photos that did upload till as recently as the 13th of August. It is frustrating! The WordPress help people are working on the problem with me, and I hope something comes of it soon.
Till then, here are the kitties!
Well, I lied! That’s a pup, eh?! His name’s Benji and he is learning to be a service dog. Good boy! He lives with Anarette in Florida.
Andy, relaxing on the washer, one of his favorite haunts. That machine was replaced with one that has no kitty perch, but it has a port where you can watch the clothes being tossed and turned. Both Andy and Dougy love that!
Deep in thought: Which will it be? Tub, box, other box, or other other box? Dougy has a big decision to make.
Dougy’s exhausted from all these decisions!
Poor kitty!!
Tub!
“That box sure looks good from here!”
Dougy enters a new decision-making phase…..

I just noticed this post as I clicked on one of your photos. Benji is much bigger now. They grow way too fast, although it is nice to have to bend down anymore to pet him. Haha.
People on my blog are very interested in Benji and his progress! I will continue to reblog updates on his training, for example. Ms. Zulu, too, has her fans after our “interview” posts! Once Beji is trained and doing his service dog business, we need to do another interview, don’t you think? Something to keep in mind. I really like the idea that you got him at a shelter and have positive plans for his future!
Sounds like the pressure is on, in a good way. Yes, another interview will be good. I will try to post something in the meantime.
No rush. I don’t know how long his school lasts, but it will be a good opportunity for us to publicize something others might want to consider doing.
What a cute puppy tho 😀
And that comes from a serious cat guy! Yeah, I have to agree. I think it is exceptional that Anarette saved him from a shelter and is now having him trained to be a service dog. Benji should make a great one!
Which once again proofs that too many good animals end up in shelters 🙁
In fact no cat or dog (or any other animal) should be locked into those tiny cages >.<
I agree. I even feel bad that mine have to share a large carrier when they go to the veterinarian or groomer.
My first kitty was a shelter cat that lived for some weeks in the shelter that then had one room with all animals, cat or dog. Though the dogs were separate from the cats, they could hear and smell each other. My kitty, Freckles, was very stressed out by this.
When I took her home, she was so sweet and grateful! I placed her on my chest, and she started a deep rumble of a pure, a pure I couldn’t believe came from this three month old kitty! I fell asleep with her on my chest, purring, and an hour later I woke up. Freckles was still purring on my chest!
When she was old enough, I made an appointment to have her spayed. The operation went well, but there was some concern about how she was responding afterwards. The veterinarian said they’d like to keep her over night.
The next morning, I c]got a call from the clinic. Freckles had died during the night!
They performed an autopsy, found no physical cause for her to die. I have no way to verify this, but I know she was put in a cage that had other cages around it that all had dogs in them. I think she died of the stress and fright of being in that situation. It was the nightmare of her early life in the shelter again.
Just a further note about spay of neutering pets: Freckles was from a litter that the people who owned the mother let roam outside.
The birth of kitties was welcomed, but finding homes for them turned out to be a problem. Instead of keeping them toil they found homes, they left them off at the animal shelter. Freckles’ brother was still left at the shelter when I picker her up…because he was less friendly. He looked like a cat destined for euthanasia, from what they told me at the shelter, because he was less social than his sister.
The shelter now separated cats and dogs in different rooms, and there are volunteers who some and play with the shelter animals. They have toys and freshly laundered blankets, loving care, but they still are shelter animals. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE neuter or spay your pets, and look to shelters first when adopting a new pet.
Oh that’s such a sad story about poor Freckles. :”(
It tore at my heart, believe it. She was such a sweet cat, but I one had her= a very short time.
Poor thing 🙁
It was a shock, believe it. She looked healthy, acted normal, was very much playful with Louie (who was the new cat on the block then). I got Louie to be her companion kitty, then he ended up being THE cat.
Those are great photos! Love Dougy in the round pot, and Andy looking relaxed on the washer. Benji is a handsome pup, too.
I have two enlarged, framed photos of the boys. Both are in boxes, of course!
Poor Dougy, tough choice- a box or a bowl. 🙂
Three boxes…! And two tubs, one of which I bought for Andy, though Dougy took that over =, too.
You must have a most peculiar problem Doug. I just updated the plugins, themes and WordPress on two websites and thankfully all went smoothly but I was thinking of you. Benji is adorable. Nice to “meet” him.
I’m still dealing with it. I tried another suggestion from WordPress on how to access the site, but it takes you to the new way to edit, which I abhor, to be frank. I hate the way it works and sometimes loses my work. I haven’t spent too much time on it yet, though, so it may be my answer.
Loved Andy on the washing machine, he is such a cutie. But the two photos of Dougy and the captions – too true.
I think Andy was heartbroken when the old washing machoine went out the door. It also served as the launching pad to the window sill in that room. I need to come up with something new to let the kitties get up there because it is a great window for bird watching.
It makes me happy just looking at the cats and dog.
Great! I regard that as the primary reason to continue this blog – to give people a little little humor and relief from the vicissitudes of life.
For me, it gives me time away from thinking of my issues.
The boys look thoroughly bored…LOL A beautiful puppy….
I hope not bored! That’s when they start getting in trouble.
Sounds familiar to my two…LOL
Universal cattitudes…!
Dogatudes also….LOL
Yes, and it can be as perverse as cattitude!
I am punished everyday for something I did or didn’t do….LOL
Life’s vicissitudes, eh?!
Yep…have a good weekend my friend….chuq
I think I will, chuq, and I hope yours is pleasant, too!
Thank you….
After a four hour ordeal trying to get my photos for Post 1123 to upload, they finally “took”. Now I can relax and contemplate what might have happened.
Sometimes electronics can be damn near aggravating….LOL
And how!! I’m afraid they can bring out the Luddite in me.
