Take this, Microsoft! Take This WordPress!

A photo a friend “messaged” me of Ralph in about 1972. It matches the comments below.

Whenever Microsoft updates, I go through a period where it takes forever for my laptop to load. The frustration of learning a new reason I have to change how I go about it drives me crazy.
The worst frustration is when I go through the start-up, get frustrated after 15 or 20 minutes, go to “Restart”, then, after the screen goes blank for a long time, a little message pops up: “Don’t turn off your computer,” noting it’s downloading a new version of Microsoft. Isn’t that supposed to be done automatically when you select that option? The download only happens when you are in a rush to get onto your laptop. Or is it just me?!

I’m having WordPress issues, too, where I set a posting time, but it doesn’t post.

Andy says, “I AM IN NO MOOD!!!”

The late [naughty] Dougy enjoying a scratch on the settee.
That face!!!! Love your post and pics (lol)!!!
Thank you!
All the changes can be very frustrating! Andy has a very simple life by comparison, though he wishes he could automate the Greenies dispenser. 🙂
His Greenies enabler – me! – is reasonably reliable, but he’d weigh 40 pound if he had the option of endless Greenies!
I have always had trouble setting a time to post and having it actually post.
Lately, me, too. I think it has something to do with Jetpack, which I think I activated. There is a sync issue, namely, something I’m not clever enough to figure out.
Happens here too. Very frustrating.
Apparently there is a rash of problems with WordPress.
I’ve used Chrome for years. But I don’t post a blog either, so there may be more things you need in a browser than I do.
I was happy with Chrome, then Microsoft wouldn’t leave me alone tell I went to crappy Edge.
Wow, I remember the frustration of those updates, Doug, they do it way too often too. The solution is to buy a MacBook. These machines update maybe once a month. They just boot up and run! Once in a while, my posts don’t get published when they are scheduled but it’s rare.
That isn’t a solution for someone who can’t afford the over-priced Apple products.
Well, I understand that the products are expensive but I don’t see them as overpriced, Doug.
I have to eat and pay rent.
With you on the darned updating and changes all the time. I’d add ever-crashing CorelDraw to the list.
Love Andy’s ‘Take that’ look! Hehe!
Gad! Things have got too complex to work well!
Changes for the sake of it, Doug. Or, profit?
If it ain’t broke, leave it alone! Tsk!
I’m continuing to fight the impacts of the changes.
I’m losing the battle here, Doug. Grrr!
Me, too.
It gets harder sunnit, Doug. Humph!
Yes, it seems to get worse with every “improvement”.
The responses today suggest it isn’t uncommon to deal with these issues. It took 20 minutes form my computer to load today.
Mac is not a lot better these days. And as another poster mentioned they don’t always make things better. Of course Andy’s busy social media whirl has not time for delay. There are important things to do.
The cost is beyond me anyway. My laptop has become a source of so much stress, I have to set it down when it acts up for fear I’ll toss it! I’m not joking there.
I completely understand, Doug. 🤙🏻
The updates have released some goofy chant, but overall the OS is far superior to a Windows machine.
John, I won’t buy Apple products. Superior or not, I can’t afford the damn things!
Somehow updates don’t always make it better.
No kidding!
Ha! Andy’s message to Microsoft and WordPress works for me! Cute kitty pics!
H sends more of the same. I’m about to take my laptop down to the computer store to see if they can sort the slow issues out.
Definitely not just you, Doug
I hate to think the world has stomped on is all! I’m beginning to think WordPress is the big problem.
