Andy can only wonder about those words I speak when, once again, I am missing the television remote.

He seems concerned.

I mean, he knows about the meatloaf pan by the ottoman that holds these remotes, each one of which turns on and controls the television!
=(×+×)=
Seriously, Roku televisions often post possible selections that might interest you in a way that prevents you from seeing what you wanted to see until you accept or reject the unsolicited option. For that reason, you need to have a remote handy at all times.
To assure a remote is handy for these annoyances, I place one in my shirt pocket.

(Andy gives up on me!)
To date, the original one that came with the television is lost somewhere in the front room. After I lost that remote, I went without television till two ordered from Amazon arrived a few days later. Roku televisions are free of conveniences such as manual controls!
I keep losing remotes out of pockets. One got washed with the shirt with it in the pocket, ironically, since most losses are from the dang things falling out of my shirt pocket and me not being aware it has happened!
Over time, I’d find myself down to one remote in the meatloaf pan I use to try to know where the television, radio, and air conditioner remotes are, so I would order two more from Amazon…”just in case I never find the others. Amazon sells them two for $9.95 or something like that. Apparently, these remotes go missing a lot. necessitating multiple customer purchases each time. Ha!

My Amazon VISA points accumulate fast enough that I’ve applied them to purchases all but once, making this display of purchased-then-lost- then-found-again-after- the-next-purchased remotes mostly free or free except for some shipping and handling.
I confess, though, that I thought I currently had only three remotes, yet I found four mixed in the mess next to the chair I sit in, one was in my pocket, one was on the floor next to the ottoman, and one was in the meatloaf pan I use to help me keep track of the remotes that seem destined never to be there!
An eighth one popped up while I was writing this. So, along with the one that came with the television that flew through the air and landed somewhere in the living room – can’t explain how that happened! – I have nine remotes to control one television. Of course, the ninth one might be that missing remote that started this whole mess.
Since you now have nine of them, perhaps you can place some in strategic positions around the house. For instance, if you hide a few remotes in the kitchen cabinets where Mr Andy looks for mousies, there is a remote possibility of coming across them.
Gorgeous close-up of Mr Andy!
We rarely had that problem before the toddlers moved in. Now they’re on a window ledge they can’t reach
I never ceased to be amazed at how I can set something down here and it disappears! Sometimes the cats are guilty of carting off things of interest to them, but most of the time it seems that the object blends in. Then there is always the resident ghost, or two. 🙂
These remotes usually show up in plain sight where I might have looked for them before…. Doug
Same here!
Wow, you need more remotes, Doug! 😂 The second photo of Andy is 100% in need of a frame! So cute! 🥰
LOL! Yeah! I agree about that second photo. I might get it on coffee mugs since zi go through them at an alarming rate.
Doug
and one of my neighbour, hung all the important things around her neck, I forgot to mention that .. 🙂
We are too who can’t find them… But especially I always lose my glasses, phone and the others… There is no place left in the house that I don’t search, and while I search, my little monsters also have fun. We wander around the house like a herd of acorns. Thank you lovely Any, and dear Doug, Love, nia
LOL! I can imagine what you look like with a bunch of kitties following you while you search for missing things!
Doug
That’s life for us older people, Doug. It’s nice that Andy is concerned about how you’re doing.
I’m afraid it is!
Doug
Hello Andy.😊😊
Andy waves his paw at you in greetings!
Doug
shirt pocket is my place to destroy all the important things like remotes phones and glasses sigh….
Unfortunately, it is mine, too!
Doug
It is mobile phones in my shirt pockets that end up on the floor
Mobile phones…the bane of existance! I stopped carrying mine with me except when I travel or other rare instances because I’d either lose it or drop it out of my pocket on hard surfaces. I haven’t washed it in the laundry yet. Another good reason not to carry it in a short pocket here!
Doug
I suppose there’s a remote chance that several other remotes are at large somewhere around the house …
It could be a remote possibility, Leah… 🤭
I wouldn’t be surprised!
Doug
I love you avatar… I can’t stop staring at it!!
Thank you! It’s our late Little Buddy at a window to a forest, taken in 2011. Primitive digital camera, wasn’t used to photo editing, and it just happened.
I see a black cat against glowing blue/green background… kinda like “magic glow” jewelry. GREAT pic!!
Glad to know I’m not the only one losing those… I currently have 5 in the bedroom. I don’t understand how I misplace them so rapidly!!
I don’t get Roku suggestions. Ard they random or tied to tied to saved sesrch results? I can save something, but I no longer get notified when it becomes available… maybe because I have Recommendation Rows & What To Watch both set to Off (Home > Settings > Home Screen).
Turning on What To Watch shows my Save List. I’ve never seen popup recommendations. Googling suggests first turning off Fast Start. If that doesn’t work, a Factory Reset (or 3, per one podt) should stop them.
Worth a look. Settings are extensive on thst television, some meant nothing until after I had it for awhile.
Doug
I agree! I had a happy surprise when trying options – an option to make the icons smaller, so now I see all my streaming apps at once.
My newer tv doesn’t track/display favorites, which I used a lot. I tried suggestions for days, even getting into programming hidden options (crazy button press combos to bring them up), but nothing worked.
