17Sep24: really tired after yesterday…

Andy’s really tired after yesterday’s Ling post.

Over and over, he stopped what he was doing and took a nap!

This one reminded me how disheveled he looked as a kitten! Awwww! I note, too, what I’ve told you before: his pelage looks different in different light, really different.

  1. Mocha got his name because his long black coat turned coffee-brown in sunshine.

PCB is covered in matts. She’s been extra bitchy so, rather that try to brush her (and risk losing a limb), I cut out a couple whenever she’s nearby and drowsy

    • You have my sympathy! When Andy gets mats, I usually can pull them apart. Andy bates it, but it’s necessary. I know how that goes. I wo dered about Mocha’s name. Now I know!

      • Btw: I’ve found that the matt combs that look like think metal rakes are really good. PCB hates it, but no more than an ineffective light brush. I used scissors because I’d misplaced the rake/comb and there were a LOT of matts.

        • I have one of those, too, and Andy runs away the moment he sees it. I have one that supposedly cuts through mats that gets a similar reaction. The only effective method I’ve found is pulling them apart by hand. That requires holding Andy as best I can while doing it. He hates being held, too! I miss having the convenience of the groomer who came and picked him up at my place door. She, unfortunately, had to quit because of a medical issue that made standing long periods very painful. She recently left a post on Facebook noting she missed her fuzzy clients. She said one of her feet is much better.

  2. Love those furry Andy pictures and light on the fur, especially long fur, sure can make a difference! We had a long furred black kitty, Ultraviolet, who would show a lot of reddish areas in bright light.
