Andy was good with all the friends being here.

Of course, he missed his Greenies!

Greenies supposedly help keep down tartar build-up on kitty teeth.

Nom! Nom!

Indeed, when Andy’s teeth were examined by the veterinarian the other day, they were sparkling clean.
=(^+^)=
Andy has hyper thyroidism and will need a medication for that, but otherwise got a pretty good report on his state of heath at 13 years of age.
I was just considering what to get Susy for Tarter. I will have to get some Greenies.
Glad Andy’s doing okay.
Me, too! At age 13, it is amazing he is so healthy.
Hyperthyroidism does seem to be a common old kitty ailment these days. Glad those Greenies are keeping his teeth clean!
Clean teeth are especially good for a kitty his age!
I suspect a lot of the hyperthyroidism diagnosed in cats now has to be more a matter of better small animal veterinarian care now than in the past. Cats probably had it as often in the past, but it wasn’t diagnosed. For that matter, they were less likely to get medical exams or care until they were showing signs of illness!
So many cats get that with age. I wonder if it is something in the food. Glad that is all that is wrong and it is treatable. If he is hard to pill. there is liquid and also an ear gel.
I’ve used the ear gel treatment, which is what the new medication is, too. It is much easier to do than pills!
Yes, hyper thyroidism does seem common in older cats. I don’t fully understand it yet.
You are lucky to have a healthy cat! I think of 13 as being on the youngish side so he should be around quite a few more years. Stock up on those greenies!
Yes, I am glad he has pretty good health at his age! It is a blessing for him and me.
The greenies are doing their job. I hope the treatment for Andy’s hyper thyroidism works well.
Yes! Of course, 22 years or more ago, his veterinarian recommended them.
As for the hyper thyroidism, the treatment is Ina form that is relatively simple to administered. Best of all, it doesn’t require getting a cat to swallow a pill!.
That is a splendid result on his teeth
Absolutely, Derrick! Cats have to be anesthesized to have their teeth cleaned. At Andy’s age and as a Persian, the risks are high.
happy greenie thursday!!!
Every day is Greenie Day, says Andy!
