23Oct24: follow-up at the veterinarian’s

Andy is a stoic kitty at the veterinarian’s, as you know.

So, when his veterinarian came into the examination room…

…he didn’t get unruly or whine when she opened the carrier to lift him out.

Of course, Dr. Olejnik has a gentle, soothing “bedside manner” with little fuzzballs!

She examined his ears  and listened to his heart. He was patient and a very good kitty!

Then it was time to make a new follow-up appointment and to pay the bill.

“There’s a MOUSE, Andy!”

Andy was happy to return home.

=(^+^)=

The follow-up in two weeks is to see if the hyperthyroidism treatments are working or if there are any complications from the medicine. He’ll have another procedure to evaluate his heart. He has a heart murmur, a condition we’ve known about for several years. Andy is in pretty good shape, though, for a 13-year-old kitty, so don’t, be concerned.

  1. I wish to get a good results… You are a very good human and I am sure Lovely Andy know this, and always being helper to you. I mean doesn’t make the things hard… As cats get older, health problems arise… But a close relationship with their veterinarian and keeping them under control is important. That’s why you are a very good human, you’re doing the best of what’s right, dear Doug, You are a good team. Blessing and Happiness, Thank you, Love, nia

  2. Andy doesn’t look too upset over the testing, and the vet sure looks like an animal lover. It’s good the vet has come up with a better blood pressure method. It will help him to accept the testing.

    • 9Andy says he goes bonkers when they take his blood pressure, though Dr. Olejnik says they do it differently now. It supposedly doesn’t require shaving a foot or – horrors! – under his tail. I think taking it five or six times and averaging them is what really tested his best nature. He hated that sensation of the foit or tail being squeezed, I’m sure!

Anyway, I can imagine a Weimie at the veterinarian’s is a major handful! Hee! Hee! Two at the same time, though…!

    • Absolutely! His regular veterinarian, Dr. Ylander, is equally good with small animals as Dr. Olejnik. I think Dr. Ylander is getting ready to retire – not sure about this – and I am glad there will be someone I feel good about taking over for him. I am sure Andy will be good about the change, too.

    • Andy’s always behaved well at the veterinarian’s, though he gets fussy when they take his blood pressure. I haven’t seen it, but his veterinarian says they have a new way of doing it that is less troublesome for the critter.
