I showed Andy the brush.Andy has his druthers……and hops into the security of his favorite box.Safe at last?It works well to get out that pesky loose undercoat.Andy knows what he must do!Skedaddle. This much was just one mat under Andy’s left arm! It took the brush and manual manipulation to pull most of it apart to get it all.
I think I’ve got most, if not totally all of his mats taken care of now.

It’s summer one day and winter the next
I have electric heat in each room, so spend a lot of effort dialing the thermostats up or down to achieve the temperature best for ghe day. Honestly, I spend lots of time with fans, AC, or blankets to minimize the thermostat adjustments all over the apartment!
Andy resists most of the time. The brush shown is good for loose hair, but less successful on mats. Andy gets monster mats in his pits and his buttocks. Brushing regularly helps, but….
Weather here goes back and forth between Winter-like and Spring-like. That may be why you see Nebraskans wearing a Winter coat over a light short sleeve shirt-cargo shorts and sandals ensemble! LOL!
Another precious set of shots, Sir!
Thanks, Gerry! I try to please.

I finally got all Monkeys mats out. They actually just got super old so I just cut them and new fur is growing in, nicely.
Andy has a fewspots that are there to comb-over, like a bald, vain human!

That looks like a good brush for a long-haired kitty.
It actually is pretty effective on all but the worst if mats.

Maybe he likes the extra insulation. I don’t know how warm it is out there, but he won’t need the insulation soon.

Sometimes, it seems, after brushing a cat, that you just got eleven pounds of fur out of a ten-pound cat, and there’s still more.
That is no exaggeration, almost! Ha!

What a job

Good for you being persistent and getting all of the mats out. They’re such a nuisance!
I think I got them all, then find more every time, Leah! I can’t believe how much hair comes off Andy and you can’t tell anythings missing.
