10May25: Andy on the prey…

It was Andy’s day!
Horns up.
Something has his interest.
It’s moving all over.
There it is again!
Andy’s prey is on the ceiling.
Briefly, it flew into the lamp.
Back on the ceiling.
Well, Andy thought it was.
A short nap.
The prey returned to the ceiling.
Andy checked with me. “Did you see it, too, Doug?”
I had and I pointed it out to my kitty!
Head tilted back to spot where it landed this time….
There!
Andy’s not getting much sleep today!

=(^+^)=

My trip to Rapid City turned out to be fast and furious.  The recall fix took about ten minutes. The round trip took five hours.

Too bad they didn’t have the recall replacement part when I was up there recently for annual maintenance and another recall fix.

On the other hand, I finished the trip by 10:30 am.

Yes, I plan a nap.

  1. At least he can see that little thing. Sometimes I think Frankie is losing his sight. Today, we walked past our neighbor’s cat, who was lying fifteen feet from us, maybe less. She watched us walk by. Frankie did not seem to notice her there.

    • I know macular degeneration is one impact in people. I suppose cats could experience eye related problems from strong sunlight, too. Maybe familiarity with the neighbor’s cat was part of Frankie’s lack of reacting to her. Of course, knowing how he behaves from your posts, it seems unlikely I’m right on that point!

    • I was a little concerned Andy would have learned the hard way about wasp stings!

Had the dealer had the part needed for the recall the first time I was there for annual maintenance and another recall, it wouldn’t have been such an imposition on my time, money for gas, and good will. They are an excellent dealership, however, and have bent over backwards in past to accommodate me.

    • I have to laugh every time Andy’s horn go up! Until I got two Persian kitties so many years ago, the phenomenon of “kitty horns” was unknown to.me. Of course, Andy and the late Dougy quickly brought them to my attention!

    • Yes, it was a bit ridiculous, but the drive is through some of the most scenic parts of two states. The only part that’s a bit unpleasant is when you get into Rapid City traffic. It’s s good thing I drove on Autobahnen traffic for two plus years in the US Army while stationed on Germany because where I come from, one can drive for miles without come on or seeing another vehicle. The Rapid City traffic is like slower speed bumper-to-bumper Autobahn traffic, only with drivers without the skills and lane discipline of German drivers.

    • Yes, he has excellent, healthy eyes, especially at his age. His veterinarian noted they are exceptional.

    • O, but you are right that thousand northwest parts of the Nebraska Panhabdle are great agate finding places.

    • Oh yeah! He becomes obsessive when he spots a bug. I have no doubt that he spent a lot of the time I was gone trying to get that wasp.
