Here’s something really scary: On October 12th, Home Depot had a television commercial for Christmas. That’s the first one I’ve seen for 2025. Eeeeek!!!!!
I think WP may be trying to moderate some of the bots.

Doug, I agree with Kate, forget the number of followers and just keep doing what you are doing. Your core followers are interested in you and Andy.
On another note, it is possible WP is randomly disconnecting some people. That has been happening for years.

I try not to be upset about it, but it would be helpful to know why in case it was something I could do to improve the blog.
Wow, the changed color and lighting make that pic of Andy really atmospheric, almost a bit spooky! So interesting too, the way the patterns of fur are revealed by the light … Hmm, kitty blogs are my favorites to follow … I haven’t checked number of followers at all on mine but I know I’ve lost some since I had to stop for a couple of years and my posting schedule upon return is even more haphazard. And I just can’t post on as many as I used to, but rely on “liking”.
I try to post daily because family and friends follow me as much to keep track of Howard’s doing as to keep track of how I’m doing. I would like to drop a day or two sometimes, but do the daily posts for that reason. I know my follows increased fast, though, once I did start a daily schedule.

That could be. On Facebook, you follow setting, and it only shows in your feed for a time, then stops. You end up having t o follow multiple times over time. I don’t do Instagram.
