15Dec20: make a pretty picture time…

I notice Andy looking exceptionally pretty. “I need to take a picture”, I think. Well, the cat looks fine, but what a mess in the foreground and background.

I quick edit makes most of the messy surroundings disappear but SpongeBob SquarePants sticks out no matter where he is.

I change my angle to exclude SpongeBob and use the closeup feature to give Andy a happier background. He sees what I’m up to and ducks the moment I snap his photo. He remembers the bad old days when getting a photo taken involved flash! If you think kitty boys don’t have elephantine memories, then you haven’t taken flash photos of cats! LOL!

I try a trick: I have all my settings and composition ready, then say “Andy…”. He looks up and -tuh duh! – a nice portrait of my pretty boy! With the right tricks, anyone can take a decent picture of a kitty.

On the other hand, this old photo of Andy with a fly on his side was kinda fun. LOL!

  1. I remember Mom used to use the flash on me, too, when she took my pics. She doesn’t use it anymore. I think she got the hint when my eyes would start to water and I would try to look away.

    • Yes, once I got a smartphone, its sensitivity in dark situations and editing capabilities made flash mostly unnecessary. I prefer it, too.

  2. One must always keep one’s home in a condition to take a picture of one’s pet at a moment’s notice. Ha, ha, right. I would never have any pictures if that was the case. Love that last recent picture of Andy. Good job persevering.

    • Thanks! When I first met Andy when he was five weeks old, my first reaction was “What the heck is that?!” He was a strange looking kitten, but when Tara (whose kitty momma had Andy and Dougy) set him down on the desk and Andy walked over to me, I was hooked! Of course, once he grew a little, he started to be really pretty.

    • Thanks, Michel! I am amazed how pretty Andy looks. He was a rather plain kitten. LOL!

I barely have patience to make it through four hours of dialysis, even with the little television that is available with the dialysis unit. I can’t imagine four and a half hours of it! Best wishes for a comfortable dialyze.

    • I would have guessed the fly photo would appeal to you two, you are such characters! LOL! (“Characters” in the good sense, of course.. I love your adventures!) I think Andy would be scandalized if he met the two of you, he’s so prissy.
