On this sad day one year ago, Dougy died. I named him after me, a family in joke too involved to explain. I don’t feel like telling a joke today anyway. He was a comedian, an explorer, a loveable kitty boy who is missed by his brother Andy and me each and every day.
Dougy
July 1, 2011 – July 15, 2020
Dougy kitten is in our hearts. ( Christmas may be an awful day too ) – Amitiés 🙂 🙂
Yes, any of many anniversaries…
So sorry. This will always be tough but it sounds like you and Andy are resilient which is a Blessing.
I think the first anniversary is the hardest, and we are thriving. Thank you.
Even good anniversaries can be emotional sleigh rides, but sad ones are always tough. January 4th remains tough for me all these year later because of the loss of Clancy. So I understand how you feel.
So it is, they are. I have another one coming up on August 1, a 10th anniversary of the death of Louie the ginger cat, whose death opened the door to be given Andy and Dougy.
All of us at my house miss him very much, too, and our hearts hurt. I’m blowing paw kisses up to the clouds and stars for Dougy, my furiend.
Thank you. Andy and I appreciate this coming from our paw pal!
Such a sad anniversary. XO
I was concerned I would be morbid about it, but I understand death is part of the process. While I miss Dougy a lot – he was ornery, but funny – something was wrong with him that made his life impossible to continue. I never learned what that was, and that has caused me some concern and stress because I would like to know that whatever happened happened for reasons other than anything I did or didn’t do.
Purrayers as you and Andy remember sweet Douglas !
Thank you.
I am sorry for you, Doug .
Yes someone is missing and this hurts.
In friendship
Michel

Thanks. I agree about Dougy.
We miss the “Doug and Andy Show” So sad he has departed.
It was fun with two cats interacting.
Anniversaries of a loved one’s passing are hard. I hope you are very kind to yourself today. I sometimes treat myself to a small ‘feast’ of favorite foods, like when people bring casseroles, pies and bars to your house right before a funeral. (That’s what they did in Minnesota, anyway.) It’s small comfort after a big loss, but food can remind you of the good times too. ((Hugs!))
Same in Nebraska. Yes, I treated myself and gave Andy extra attention – which he didn’t wabnt!
Quite right ! amitiés
Here’s a big hug for you, Doug. 😞
Thanks, John.
Hugs and purrs from the kitties and me.
Thanks, Leah.
Your Dougy was a handsome cat, and a large personality, Doug. Everyone here sends their hugs, and love, to you and Andy. 💙🌈🐾😿
Thanks, Lavinia. That he was.
I recently lost my little pup after 14 years. They stay in our hearts those sweet companions. Sending love!
Absolutely. I have another anniversary – August 1, the day Louie the ginger cat died – coming up. That opened the door for Andy and Dougy.
Ahhh! I have a beautiful black cat , Bagheera. He’s adorable. They are such fun.
Hugs from all the feline and humans here.
Thanks, Kate.

That it does. Andy and I had a good year after, despite the loss. We still miss him, though.
